I bought two Bio E'd pet's off of different vendors with the special strong poison one is a lvl 47 Gurrcat and the other a lvl 40 Graul my question is is it just me or does strong poison not work in game I thought at first it wouldn't work when they were babies but now that they are grown if I use strong poison with either pet he does not use it on command as a matter of fact they have both used it but it seems to be random when they want to use it as opposed to when I command them to is there a reason for this or is this just another broken feature from SOE

Poison, disease and knockdown don't respond to a CH's command, either wild or engineered pet. They will do them occasionally by themselves.

I Have gotten my BE pets often to use strong Disease or poison.... usually it works if the command is given first before any others. The poison and disease are harder to make stick in a fight... especially since there is no 'notice' that it is being done.
My pets have about 75% rate of placing the stat on a creature or NPC.
This is what I have noticed... and I might be just very lucky in my battles

Not sure if it's true or not, but in my experience, being a MCH and MBE, intelligence plays a role in the rate of specials being performed, also level. If you're pet isn't at it's max level it won't perform the specials (At least for me), also I've made several pets with SP, and my more intelligent ones perform the specials more often (and when I tell them to) than the stupid ones.

Most creature handlers agree that disease and poison as well as some of the other specials can not be controlled on command. The animals will use those specials on their own however. Its just a random die roll.
I'm a master creature handler and I've had no success commanding poison or disease.

I'm one of those who can't seem to get commanded specials to work.
But one thing I have noticed is that getting specials to stick happens more often with the higher level pets than the lower level. I suspect that the chance of a special sticking is directly related to the pet's level (or possibly indirctly via intelligence or some other stat - which is obviously higher with CL).

To command specials I use /tellpet. If you use /tellpet the commands can not be one letter. I use sa1 and sa2. Create a macro /tellpet sa1 and put it in your tool bar. You can spam specials without everyone around you being annoyed by it.
I use /tellpet for follow as well. Again, /tellpet won't work with one letter commands. Seeing how animals love to look at rocks and become awestruck by trees I end up spamming follow quite a bit. With /tellpet no one around you will see all the spam.
You can use /tellpet for all your commands.

Ok, that made milk shoot out my nose. thanks, lol. There is a nice feature to this though. If they get stuck, and you spam them, they may warp to your location instead of having to run to you.
Something else I've noticed with pet age and attacks. If its a ranged pet, wild or BE, their ranged attack is adult strength. So if you're being attacked by a (baby) from range, kill it fast cause its as strong as an adult.
