Thread: great idea from a non-BE about crafting krayts

i think there should be a quest where a BE could get the schematic to make a krayt dragon as a pet. i mean like, you could go along getting different tissues and pearls from krayts to get enoiugh DNA samples to make a schematic...it would be really difficult, but it would make krayts craftable. this is a nice idea IMO, what does the BE community think?

I like the idea, it gives something to make a BE special.

not a krayt.....thats just a combination for lag =P
maybe something special like an acklay though...its badass and unique,but not huge =)

Acklay would make more sense with the genosians being the godfathers of cloning. I wouldn't mind one of those crazy critters you find around the geno labs, the force klikniks with that flame ball attack will do nicely

Hi guys,
Just so you understand, it isn't the size of the pet that causes Lag. A small barker droid causes essentially the same Lag as a Kimo or Krayt. What causes lag is all the personalized things that are on droids, Players, vehicles etc. Every pet no matter the size is exactly the same pixel lag as a droid.
What causes huge lag for players in cities is, 1) number of individualized objects there are, 2) Network speed (this is a biggy) 3) Video Card 4) RAM.
My friend and I play from exactly the same town, I lag in Coronet, he doesn't. Difference he has I gigabyte of RAM and A geforce 5200 video card and I don't, yet. Network speed here has been increased by our provider and that helped a bit.
So as a Master CH and a Master BE I would love to make Krayt dragons or even Kimogilias that are mountable, now that would be cool.

Umm wrong. Do you know how many polygons go into a huge creature like a Krayt compared to a 3P0 droid? try a few hundred at least. That's what causes host based lag. Its a lot more work for the video card to draw a Krayt than it is a simple droid.

I can see it now: u make me uber kraytnonch pls kthx; BE's have been through this before with kimogilas...they were a fad, a phase; the damn things are just too big and clunky to be practical. I agree that BE's should get some sort of loot somethingorother, or SEA's at the very least, but I dont think Krayts are the answer. Another point; I'm a BE/merchant and I know I'm hardly unique in that...just how would I go about getting this "uber" schematic, hmmm? Yet another thing for people to throw in my face "well soNso can make an uber krayt, why cant you?" I already get people wanting impossible pets that "they saw on suchNsuch server".

I thought the guys with the huge necks on the water planet were the cloners?

nooo, read one those loading screens when you travel by shuttle, it says something like "Rumours persist of a lab on yavin where genosians creat creatures for their battle rings".

yeah lol i was gonna say something....Kaminoans are the cloners, if anything the Geos should drop loot schematics for DEs since they had the droid foundries =)
