Hello there,

I know its probably a stupid question but do BE pets grow in your inventory before they are tamed? Or do they always start as babies no matter how long ago you made it?

Pets grow in your datapad, but not in your inventory. You must tame them before they start to grow.

I bought a pet through instant auction....its a small carrion spat it had no difficulty level so Im not sure I can do anything with it.....

I am not a CH or anywhere near becoming one and wanted a pet that could either help me in combat or become a mount....

The only thing I have figured out to do is store it in my data pad and call it out again....

Is there anything I can do with this pet now or did I waste my creds? Any help would be appreciated THX!

You need to get it trained by a creature handler.

I just joined SWG yesterday and so far having a riot with it, but one thing I want to figure out is how to get a pet. I dont need nothing massive, just something to run along side me and add in some damage. I managed to save up 4k credits and went shopping for a pet. Well I happened to buy one for only 300 credits and Difficulty of 3 (if that means anything). Now the question is, I dont know if what I bought was a pet or not. On the radial menu in my inventory, all I get is Examine, Destroy, Tame. So from the looks of it I bought something that isnt quite what I was looking for. The main question is how do I find a pet. I've searched bazaar and not really sure what Im looking for. Ive seen some under Pet Deeds but after that Im clueless onto what Im looking for. Im only Unarmed I so I have no special abilities.

if you want justa pet companion, i suggest just getting a mount. they are what you might be looking for. Probably the pet you bought is a CH (Creature Handler) pet with a very low level. You might not be able to call it out because you do not have CH. Anyways, good luck, mounts should be very cheap now.

You bought a bio-engineered pet. You'l have to find a Creature handler to tame it for you.

The best kind of pet you can use is a Level 10 pet, maybe you could look for a Kaadu or something, because I dont think a non-Creature Handler can get a very powerful pet.

Great Thanks for help. One more question, when searching bazaar I saw a few different Kaadus. Like 2 or 3 were 150ish HAM and another was around 1k HAM. And also is the difficulty level the level you guys are talking about? So if I buy a kaadu will it be useable as a mount eventually or do I need to find one specifically trained as a mount? Thanks again for the help, Im totally lost in the sense of pets.

You have a pet, but at diff 3, it will be about as useful in combat as a nerf bat.

However, if you select the creature in your datapad, you should see a number of commands, including the attack command. Usually, this is just the letter 'a', to save time, but it might be 'attack' or 'kill', etc.

Just select the critter you want to attack (with your pet out) and give the attack command. Your pet will attack the creature.

Other useful commands are stay, follow me, guard (the current selected object) and trick1 (heals pet mind damage).

Don't see these commands? The person did not train the pet for them, you will have to find a creature handler to train it.

the 150ish HAM ones are probably babies, and they should grow up to adulthood in a few days. On the other hand, they just may be lousy Kaadus. The 1K ham one seems like a level 10 Kaadu, the highest creature level a non-creature handler can use. Check his teeth and kick the tires, he sounds like a good one!

Any Kaadu can he trained as a mount as long as its not a baby. A Master Creature Handler can train him instantly. Your Kaadu will then get a cool saddle, and he'll have the radial command t o be "mounted".

Don't forget to have that creature handler teach him tricks (it helps heal the kaadus mind stats), and possibly name him...

oh, and if the kaadu get injured, they like to eat to heal the damage. They love any food you eat as well. I allways buy some really cheap novice chef treats for them.

No, get a tamed Carrion spat. Thats the best lev 10 Non-Ch Pet. Uve to pay maybe 3k to 5k depending on server. Its got 1100 HAM, mountable and got decent Kinetic Res.. Be aware that its ve to be fully trained by a Master CH. I usaly give them away for free as a welcome gift to new players on Gorath.Other way is to buy BE highlevel baby pets with light armor and use them only 1 or2 days till they grown over CL 10. Than sell them to a CH and buy a new one.
