Thread: A request to the Devs when/if fixing the screwed up CL
Just a bit of a note, they're already correcting and looking into this. We heard this from Talth himself so we don't need to ask for it now. A bit of clarification on why it's screwing up would be nice though, or even some rock solid details on what we can expect rather than the somewhat vague information that we can make clones of a fixed CL which is equal to something in the wild that is 'several' CL ratings higher. Ok, so several is technically 4 or 5. But it can also mean 9 or 10 at a stretch of what the word means.
9-10 wouldn't really be that bad (unless theres some stand out creature I'm forgetting about, but then I'd suggest that that creature needs looking at if thats the case).
Actually, placing a _cap_ of 10 shifts down in CL and 5 up,based on theCL of thehighest DNA used, would be pretty good in my book (based on "feel", I haven't researched it so some adjustment might be required).
That would mean we couldengineer a Dewbackto CL 9-10.While 4.5k 20% kin is almost exactly where I feel Non-CH should be, that might not be what Kel is thinking. I guess we'll all find outonce Kels back...
Blech Meroc, no offense but I do not like that idea. Its too limiting. The CL should be calcualted as an average value of the CL of all the DNA used just like resists are. I want to be able to mix CL20 DNA with the specials I want on it (much easier to get special DNA from low level stuff and jsut keep a stockpile of it for easily adding into recipes) with CL60 DNA to make CL35, 40, and 50 creatures. I would not want to be limitied to CL65 or higher just becasue I used one mutant rancor sample to get fortitude high enough to get the light armor in.
On a side note, it would be VERY helpfull if the DNA samples listed the CL of the creature it was sampled from and the generic DNA template listed the CL of the final creature it would create while you were experimenting on it. Obviously the CL of the sample would not direclty determine the CL of the template since its individual stats determine that and an average qulaity sample will make a much lower levle creature then a very high quality sample but it would be helpfull still to get a good idea of where the final CL will end up based on the CL of the samples.
BTW, I planted a second house just for creature crafting. I currently have 3 bags of DNA samples: 1 for low level creatures which I use mostly for selecting special attacks, 1 for high level samples (vexed voritors, frenzied graul, bull rancor, mutant rancor), and 1 for high kinetic samples (all stuff fron Endor strnagely enough). It seems everyone wants kinetic resist >50% for some reason (DUH!) so I always have to use some 65% or 75% kinetic DNA to boost it.
