Thread: Which slots are for special attacks?

Ok, my common sense would tell me that if i use 5 identical VHQ DNA from the same animal with the same special 1 and special 2, that the final product will have the same special 1 and special 2. BUT THIS IS NOT SO!!! /scream this is so frustrating. Does anyone know exactly which slots are for special 1and which slots are for special 2 or if theres some kind of thing where all DNA are identical it cancels itself out??!! When i used 5 DNA from the same animal, i ALWAYS end up with special attack 1 or special attack 2 but not both.....is this happening to anyone? I was also thinking that maybe because im using merek harvester DNA or sometimes burrower mite DNA i read somewhere that those attacks don't carry over (the area ones). Is this the case?

Also, just a rant from here on, but I can't stand those orders that say "gimme 2 lvl 35 pets light armor 60% kinetic at least 50% energy with kd, dizzy, str poison or str disease that does 600 dmg" Its like, ok...um do you want a tank or a killer cuz its really tough to get even ham bars while experimenting on the dmg and resists.... ONTOP of that, why does dmg even matter? if you cant kill something with an uber light 60% pet tanking for you, then maybe you shouldn't be attacking it in the first place?????

Pleaseeee help with the frustration.....gooosfrabaaaaaaa

Damage, and those specials, are benificial in PvP.

SA's generally come out of Psych and Aggression, but as you've noticed, they don't always seem to come through. Some people even report SA's coming from Phys. With the randomness of it there seems to be another factor that hasn't been worked into the mix (like sample quality).

Forgot to add, one of Sumorex's threads has more discussion on this, as does one of the sticky threads.

My observations are that there is underlying properties of each dna sample that interact with other dna smaples. Depending on what samples you use, special will need to be in certain slots. I have tried all the posted recipes and none of them hold true for every type of dna. I found a combo the other day that gives me ranged strong disease and strong poison but if I replace poison for dizzy, it won't stick. But the poison will stick every single time. This leads me to believe that each type of dna interacts differently depending on what is in the other slots.

Just my observations so take it for what it is worth

ic, thank you all for your input. I know its way too tough for me to sample every creature on every planet for 200 dna per creature and play mad scientist which is why I appreciate all the posted observations. Hopefully I can run more controlled experiments starting out with only 2 creatures' dna all vhq and see exactly what does what. If i get a revelation, i will be sure to post it. Thanks again!!
