Thread: How much do you guys need when buying organics?
Right now as we're forming there is just simply too great of a demand to have a stocked vendor. I'm almost certain if I advertised a vendor and went to bed it would be empty in the morning. So right now we're starting off with auctions here on the forums. My question is, what volume of stacks offer the most value/use to you all? Of each given resource including eggs and milk please
I know that organics pricing is a touchy subject, but its also very much an individual's market. Most people you can't blame for charging as much as they can get, and for a ranger like me its one of my only forms of income (I can't run destroy missions like an all-combat template can thats for sure
We're trying to accomodate the casual crafter and the more "professional" factory run type of crafter here, so analysis for both would be very much appreciated
It is my hope that eventually the Antarian Rangers of every server will have a full vendor or two, thats fairly priced and dependable for all crafting classes. Currently its so tough because of the rate at which we harvest (not even over 30% of what a scout harvests.)
Thanks in advance. And if you're on starsider email me if you want to be added to our email list. (updates on resource shifts, what we're harvesting etc)

Just as a general guideline - tissues use between 650 and 910 units of whatever type of meat per crate. Pet stims use their varieties in batches of 1k+ per crate. Those numbers allow for the resources to make the initial schematic, so multiplying them by 4 or 8 or 10 to see the actual quantities people use leaves some room for bad experiments. It's not often you'll see people wanting just enough for one crate of anything, so consider those the absolute minimum usuable amounts if you have scraps to get rid of.
For the weird ones like eggs and such:
Eggs are only used in one schematic, but a popular one, the tailoring tissue for entertainer enhanced clothing. You need 390 to make a single crate, and it's ordered in much higher quantities since a lot of the tailoring schematics require three identical tissues for one garment. For myself I can get by with stacks ~780 (2 crates), but that's because I usually don't have the patience to collect more than that in a single cycle. If someone else was doing all that lair searching for me I'd be happy to pay for much larger quantities since the scaley hide for it isn't nearly as hard to come by.
Milk ranges from 650 to 1040 per crate depending on the schematic, and again it's in some of the popular tissues that chefs and tailors will want in large batches.
Mollusk is 390 per crate for one tailor tissue that a lot of people don't seem to know exists yet - cover bonus. Not a lot of demand yet, though it may change eventually. Crustaceans aren't used at all, but if they have good stats they can substitute for any creature food requirement.
Hope this helps you some. I know a lot of it will depend just on who you're dealing with and what areas they specialize in.
Part of the reason harvested organics are so pricey has to do with the fact that they must be actively gathered, unlike any other resource. (as compared to passively gathered -find a spot, drop a harvester and wait.) The other reason they are pricey is the quantity demands, since it takes a substantial amount to make a factory run and crafters that use them want to maximize their best efforts by using a full schematic when possible. Rangers can't sell 200 units of things very easily, since the crafters that need them don't want to buy and hold 40 different types and qualities hoping to get enough of any one type to be useful.
The single best thing your guild could do is to act as a central buyer and packager of the meats - offer a set price to guildmembers for meats in whatever quantity and place "purchasing agent" vendors to collect them, then combine the various harvests to sell in good quantities in a central location or two. If you can do that, you will have enough materials to sell to make a good solid impact on the market, and your members will know they have a known sale so they can harvest without concern, whether it is 500 units or 50,000.
Offer a guildmember merchant a cut to handle the collection from the vendors and you will have a market force that can make a difference.
