Thread: So why do chef's get...

... so offended that you won't make tissue schematics for them? He started calling names when I suggested he find someone else willing to betray the profession (after I turned down his offer of 20k). He also seemed to think BE's were only for making pets. He apparently found someone else willing a few minutes later and felt I had to know.

It's not that I mind making schematics for friends, and I even only charge a 20% markup in price for my crates of BSN. But this guy had the nerve to call me rude for not "spending a few seconds clicking on the resources".

Anyway, has anyone else had encounters with rude chefs like this?

I think he was just plain rude.

Next time, tell him you'll TRADE schematics. (Note... Unless you have a crate of Casks or Glasses ready, they'll win out on this trade.

For casks.... Trim is made by tailors... add 140 amorphous gemstone, and have a chef make a run for you.)

Some people simply think they're so important that you must drop everything and do something for them. What they seem to forget is that people play this game for fun, if we don't want to make something we don't have to. You were polite in advising he finds someone else, he was just being a pain the butt by then coming back and saying he found someone. It's the equivilent of a 5yr old asking to play ball with you but you have a full team, they'll then go and find someone else only to come back to tell you afterwards in an effort to annoy you.

I'm a nice Chef!

It's really not a chef thing at all, it's just people in general, Asa master doc I had someone call me an ass and a horrible doctor because they didn't want to pay the price I quoted them for buffs. Some people just think everyone owes them something.

That is definitely pretty rude...but these people are dependent on BE enhancements to make their products better. I can imagine that would be frustrating.

Myself, I plan to specialize in chef enhancements (we already have a great creature maker in our guild)...I thought it would be interesting and there seems to be a need for it.

Wow, how rude! After paying 100k for a crate of vasarian brandy, I decidedI will make schematics for chefs, but at a hefty price. If they don't like it, too bad...send them off to ask a doctor to make schematics for their medical items...see what a response they get out of that!

Unfortunately (I am a MC) our profession has been flooded by a lot of gold diggers. Once there were very few of us and we struggled along a little better off than DE's but not much. Then they fixed us and well along came the influx of l337'ers.

What I mean is that a lot of people looking for an easy buck came into the profession, much like the broken combat profession that get fixed recieve an influx of these type of I want things easy people. Im sorry if in your dealings you have run into these people but dont label all chefs this way. I am currently working on BE also and I like it very much, it will be a while before I master it and untill then I will be dependendant on other BE for many things. I think a buisiness arrangement can always be reached.

As for idiots what I do is /report /addingnore and ban them from my shop. But please dont generalize this to all chefs. It is a good idea to not be on the defensive as we are your customers, you should think of us that way.
