Ahh i see your not familar with how BE'ing works. The body's of the pets are just empty shells that we put dna into. You can make a cl70 Dewback that has 12k ham if you put rancor dna into it.

Basically the answer is you can have a cl70 dewback and the wild creatures have no bearing on the BE version.

Just wanted to ask a question of the BE community. I am currently a novice CH and have a BE dewback as my mount. However, in the future I was hoping to get a mountain dewback as a mount after I get some skills in CH. Yet upon looking at the stats of the mountain dewbacks I noticed that they seem to have some issues with vulnerabilites.

So my question to the BE community would be how would you go about making a CH usable lvl 40ish dewback with better resists and the same or better specials, they currently are knockdown and dizzy?

Nope Im totaly clueless on how BE works, of course then again I have only been playing for 10 days now . Thanks for the answer though.

As an aside would it be possible to get rid of all the vulnerables add in kinetic, blast, and heat resists good special attacks decent melee damage good all around HAM for a lvl 40ish dewback? And what would something like that cost?

Cost depends on server.

Lvl 40 will either have a lot of low resists or more likely high in 3 or 4. Attack will be around 400, specials can be any and Ham will probably be about 11/9/9K.

Resists have a lot to do with the CL. In bio engineering, we can take from one pool and add it to another, and so and and so forth. If you want all resists high, then expect the HAM and damage to be much lower than it would with only 3 high resists. We are in the business of juggling stats, so keep that in mind when you decide what you want.

In my opinion and experience, pets with high resists in certain things such as kinetic (usually most important), energy, sometimes acid and stun are much, much more favorable than 30%+ resists across the board. By dropping the percentages in some of the lesser resists, we are able to boost HAM and damage, and I find that option to be more favorable amongst my customers.

Ahh, I see well I have read several posts on the creatures recipies thread: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=bio-engineer&message.id=37583

Where fokes have added rancor DNA to give the new pet light armor this seems like a very good thing to me to add, however does that add to the viscousness of the pet? Also since it seems that only kinetic, blast, and maybe heat are the resists to get is it ok to leave the others as vulnerables? I would like a pet that I can use as a lvl 40ish mount and when dismounted as a pretty kick butt pet to augement my combat capabilites.

A level 40 pet with light armor, high HAM (10kish), decent to good percentages to 3-4 resists and decent to good damage is very feasible. I have made a level 33 with 10k H/A 8kM with 45%K/En and about 350 Damage with a few specials ( I can't remember all the details). I am sure something similar at level 40 could be whipped up, but it most likely will take a few generations. I rarely if ever hit the right CL on the first try.

When you talk to a BE about making this pet, make sure you are specific with what you want. It is very frustrating to hear "I want a good level 40 pet," and when you ask what they constitute as good, they don't have a definite answer.
