Thread: Re:Pricing
for a total of 22.5k x 2 = 45k per crate (of broad spectrum)
then I add to this my costs as a chef (5cpu for (60) flora+ 2cpu for (100) **edit** gems) x 25 = 12.5k + 45k = 57.5k
If I triple this figure as I intended it would be 172.5k per crate of brandy. If I double total costs it comes to 115k.
I currently charge 125k per crate of any and all BE medium enhanced 10use drinks and 120k for all BE medium enhanced4-6use foods.
The question now becomes apparent as too weather the BE product influences my product disproportionately both in cost and effect. Considering all this and the power of effect of the BE product on my products I think its worth 45k a crate. What I'm not so pleased with is considering what Chef would be like without BE products. As one someone else so aptlystatedin a similar discussion: do we want our (chef) products to be merely delivery mechanisms for the BE product?" I dont think I do.
Two things, we BE's don't "CHOOSE" to charge that based on your 25 cpu meat example you used. I hate paying that for meat and I dont. (Probably why I never have enough to run a tissue line in the factory!) We are only passing on the cost and I've actually seen meat for higher the 25 cpu.
Second I dont think Chefs are BE delivery men. I think it's a well thought out plan to create interdependancy of the profs., by the devs. To be good BEs we really need ranger which means master scout and etc. We can't go out and uber up. We have to have architects for harvesters and factories. Without a fighting sckill we can't even get a worthwhile amount of meat ourselves. I can't even use a vendor, I have to rent one from a master craftsman who has gone into the merchant branch.
I think, but I'm not sure, you can make a lot of those without BE stuff, right? they would just suck pretty much and wouldn't sell. So you are capable of making them on you own though. If we are talking strictly just one prof. then look at us. We can use anything we make without other profs. Cant use a pet or a food additive, or a tissue. I don't think there is any other prof that is like that. We can only sell our goods. I personally have no CH, no Tailor, and no Chef so I cant use a single think I make for myself.
I've heard a lot of chefs grip about this but I think the system for the depedability on other profs is good. It creates a more true economy. I also say on behalf of chefs, If you have to charge 250K to make what you want to make on a crate of Brandy then go for it. If I want/need it bad enough I'll pay for it.
ROFLMAO @ 50k per crate
I charge 75k. Dont like it? Go somewhere else!!!
Meat on Bria sells for 50c/u to 200c/u for the real good stuff. I would sooner hunt meat and sell it for market price then take a loss, sell it to a damn chef who will then turn around and double, even tripple, his profit.
I'm at the point now where I dont even bother with chefs outside my guild. MBE are elite crafters whose profession is one of the most, if not the most, difficult to master and understand.
I'm not here to cater to chefs. Pay up like everyone else ot go buy a 2nd account and make your own BE mods!!!!
It p*sses me off to no end when I get tell wanting crates of additives for 25-30k and free schematics!!!!!
I make 50k for a cl10 pet that doesnt nearly take me the time it takes to gather the meat for one crate of chef additives!!!
Sick and tired of the lack of respect ![]()
You really ought to pickup Bio Engineering or Doctor for awhile. Learn what the torment we go through with the cost of animal resources so you understand why we hate it when you come to our forums telling us what we should or should not be charging.
Constantly, you refer to "meat" at 25cpu. It's not just "meat" that we have to have. Like doctors, we must have particular types. Every recipe requires a set amount of creature resources and then requires 1-3 other specific meats, and lets not forget aboutmilk or mollusk/fish.
Now, beings a Master Bio Engineer only gets the option to master one elite combat profession (if that is in fact what they choose) that leaves us not able to master scout to get the full harvesting benefit or even consider going into ranger to get the 30% increase on harvesting.
Next you throw in the fact that chefs or tailors WILL NOT BUY our products unless they are top of the line.
Okaaay, well what is our experimentation based on that gives us our good quality products that we can't sell unless they are good? That's right, "meat" & flora. Experimentation on all our tissues & additives are 33% OQ 33% PE 33% Flavor.
