DNA Sampling is like watching paint dry.

Any tips / hints on how to speed this up ?

I didn't read the faq, but i wanna say "not really". I did random beasties outside of coronet for level 1 (try humbaba missions). I'm currently working on Pikets for level 2. Bout halfway through in about 1/10th days worth of work in this fashion

Get yourself a crate of Vassarian Brandy (or Muon Gold if you can't afford that) - this will enable you to sample continuously without total mind-drain.

Get some cheap stim-b's - these will let you heal the Action cost of sampling.

Get yourself some decent Mask-scent clothing (+25 is the maximum benefit you can get from this) - this will enable you to sneak up of your target without the ? or \!/ response.

And if you are after fierce critters - get yourself some decent ubese armour (high kinetic resist) and be prepared to run for it......... (creatures with lairs will chase you for 500m or so, 'floaters' will chase you for 1km or more!)

Good advice, also Jawa Beer adds a bonus to this as well I used +10 last night and only had one MR break my mask Scent. (I got 8 samples in only an hour) Seems like a long time, but try it without the Jawabeer)

I moved to Corellia I have no vendor and I don't know the coords to my house, but it doesn't really matter cause all my pets are in the tool box, I may have some in space, but that doesn't really concern you either.

If you hate sampling so much you might want to ask yourself if BE is the profession for you.

Quite right - DNA sampling gets much more "interesting" when you start trying to sample things that can quite handily rip your head off if they object to your tender ministrations.

This is one of the features of being a BE that a lot of non-BE's can't quite get thier heads round:

Tell: "Can you make me a pet please?"

Reply: "Erm- now is not a good time, later please"

Tell: "Why? What are you doing? Why can't you talk?"

Reply: "I've just inserted a DNA sampling needle into a mutant rancor. If it fails, him and his 4 friends are going to be very, very upset - I can't type right now"

Tell: "Why would you want to do that?"

Before publish 7 (the chef revamp) this was made even more "interesting" because typically I'd be off my head on Muon Gold with no buff-o-meter to tell me when my mind would plunge to just above zero and I'd start puking.

In fact, thinking about it, I don't think I've died since publish 7 since my deaths before then were generally preceeded by my mind plunging to nothing, the sampling failing and the critter getting in a headshot which is going to do at least 1 point of damage through even72% composite..............

Becoming a BE made me a junkie - the chef revamp made me an alcoholic.

Ha ha That's an awsome way of putting it, I almost hurt myself laughing.

ALso I went through the same thing last night some dude claiming to be a fellow BE kept sending me tells while I was watching my jawa Beer time and stabing away.

It made it twice as intense though... I say claimed, becuase when I got agrod and ran away, all but one turned back, so I killed it, and then submitted to train him, Organic Chem 1 was something I could teach him....hmm.
