Thread: How to find Merek Harvesters

Is there any way other than the insanely boring driving all over Endor (which I just did for 30min and found nothing) or hiring a ranger?

In the hills next to the smuggler outpost and up at the top of the moutain to the north of there are the best places I find for Mereks in general.

There is a static spawn of five plus a King Merek Harvester located at (3900, 5750).
Either south of the lakes or the Smuggler's Outpost there is also an elevated hut that has a few Harvesters around it. (I forget where exactly, but I do believed it is marked on Simsimsan's maps.)

I too was looking to find these last night, for about 2 hours. 
Then i got chased off of Endor by a Super Battle Droid. Ugh, that thing hurts.
But yeah, i'm off to find some of these now that i know where to look. Thanks for the heads up!

Noob question warning!
Don't wanna sound like a moron, please forgive me, lol. But, why exactly do we want these?

I'm still new to making creatures, but I'd guess the reason we want this DNA is that is has light armor and 75% kintetic resistance. Should make some nice creatures. I'm planning to get me some of this DNA to play with in the next few days.

There is also a static spawn of 3 Merek Harvesters to the west and slightly south of the Research Outpost. The main benefit to gathering DNA from that spawn, is that there are usually a decent amount of Wild nests with Harvesters and Deaths Head. I can usually get 80-100 samples in 1.5-2 hours. I dont have the exact coordinates on me (At work) but its just north of the point in the lake. Its a small hut about 100m off a riverbank.

merek harvesters also have low resists to everything else and so are vital in making excellent multi-generation CL10 pets
