I recently mademyself a level 10Cu Pa from the typical VD, VD, NS, NS, NS recipe with 5.5/3.5/1.5 HAM 14% KR Cripple/Poison specials, NO ranged attack.
The other day for fun Iused it to attack a hostile NPC that was hanging around one of my harvestors. I pulled the pet about 50m from the target and when I gave the Cu Pa the attack command it did start attacking but was behaving as though it was using a ranged attack. It would make the small movement like a Cu Pa does when performing a ranged attack, take a step or two, perform the smal movement, take a step or two and repeated this for 30m or so (about 10 times) before it ran in and started to attack melee style. While using what appeared to be a ranged attack it did no damage and just seemed to slowly creep up to the target 2 steps at a time, nodding its head along the way.
Like I mentioned above when the pet was craftedranged attack = no so there appears to be a bug someplace. My concern is 1) this is a bug 2) im making Cu Pa for people w/o ranged attack and they are functioning improperlyduring combat.
The other thing I noticed is a gurreck I also have with ranged attack = yes, does not perform a ranged attack and just immediatly attacks melee style. This makes sense as the gurreck skin does not have ranged attack but thought I would mention that as well.

Not even a nibble on this. It seems to be a significant bug/issue. Should I open a CSR ticket, post in another forum? But ranged skins using ranged style attacks (albeit no damage)with ranged attack = no seems to be a bug to me.

Nice spot on that, I've seen a few complaints about this happening, the one I remember was also a CL10 Cu Pa so probably no range as well, guess the creature AI is trying to use range when one doesn't exist.
