In short, the subject says it all. Can I get armor from creatures without armor's dna. Say gaping spider queen and experiment it up to having armor? Thanks for your help.

The way I understand it, Fortitude > 500 on the final template gives armour. So if you have high Fort creatures and experiment, I'd definitely imagine so. There's a post around here somewhere that used such a tactic.
