arachne webmasters, bark mite burrower queens, mantigrue reapers, arachne warriors.

They all have armor.

mantigrue screechers and Arachne warriors are pretty good aswell. The screechers have an area affect disease that doesnt work for us yet..but the rest of their stats were pretty good. Go North from the Smugglers outpost into that large desert area and you will find tons of spiders, mereks and mantigrue.

The BMB (bark might burrowers) make really nice mid 40's pets reliably if you mix them with DNA that improves the specials like the TMB (toxic merek battle lord).

What makes the BMB a great pet to base your experimentation on is their 60/40 kinetic/energy split. Then you just twiddle with the specials and CL.

Yes the queens are even nicer at 60/50 however they are a lot more rare so you will almost certainly be making from BMB based pets.

The arachne are nice, especially the venom filled if you want some mid low 20's non-armored pets with decent resists and poison.

All in all endor is a good place to sample for the mid 20-45 CL range.

Yes, Bark Mite Burrowers are outstanding, I also recommend the Bark Mite Burrower Queens, they're pretty tough for me to sample though (2-1-4-2) but it's very worth the trouble. Light armor, high kinetic and energy resists, and I believe they have a few other rather high resists and decent specials, not positive on the specials though.

Merek Deaths heads are good for the specials and armor but lousy as hell for the resist. that 10% detracts heavily even when you using 60% dna to counteract.
