Nancy, could you ask if its possible to get a refinement to the UI change that averages selected stats for our stacks of resources?
What I was wondering is if its possible to have a text box next to each stat in the Options screen where we could input a weighting for each stat. Right now all stats have equal weight, but with this change we could specify our 50% OQ, 30% PE, 20% FL so the average we see would actually mean something.
Just a thought, it really isn't much more math to do, and I'm sure there are other crafting professions where this would help them.

This would help all crafting professions. Great idea!
(Has anyone else noticed that PE is not being averaged into the stats?)

I thought it was just me. glad I'm not imagining things.
as an aside, I didn't understand what anyone meant by 'the crafting screen changes' for weeks on TC... since DNA is still a jumble of unsortable garbage. oh, to be an REAL crafter!

Hmm another useless bone thrown to the dogs to quiet our barking. Has anyone found a viable purpose for this new "bells and whistle" addition to the UI??

Well, having given up BE it isn't as useful to me anymore...
Were I still one it would have several uses. One, it would let me get a quick feel for which materials I was using. Two, it would let me collect a bunch of samples from a planet and let me sort them into good and junk.
Were Kevm's idea added, it would tell me on the spot which are the best resources to use in my tissues.
No it isn't a huge improvement, but I'm of the school of thought that a lot of little enhancements and tiny bug fixes can have a much greater effect than a few larger ones that are much harder to implement. (The big ones do need working on, but unless game-breaking, small ones can greatly impove quality of life.)

I use it. It helps me open up my storage backpacks and see how good my resources are on average. True it doesn't fit our usage percentages, but it does help. Also, its very helpful when looking at a pack full of bone and hide to tell which are good to use for my tissues (same for wood).
