Thread: just asking :)
generally I think thats the BE jumping on the gravy train. I could never justify a pet to be worth 200k. I think the highest I've priced a pet was 75k and that was one of my cl15 / ar1/ 60% kin. I sold these babies at 30k. They really arent that hard to make once you work out how to do it because all it requires is one or two samples from the previous gen and then (hopefully) you can still sell the pet. As for the price, well thats just server dependant. People like to be rich and price gauge, others don't really care. Personally I never saw pets as the money maker - that was the additives. Remember, something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. You may find that it has been unsuccessful and he just keeps relisting it. Some BEs allow you to barter a price for a pet, so maybe send him a *polite* email asking him to negotiate a price?

i'm a non ch'r. i'd like to buy a pet. but they seem to be a bit outrageously priced to me :/
on the server i'm on Ahazi they run 200k plus. is this normal? my brother was a BE in another life. and he never charged that much. why are overpowered BE pets cl10 under so pricey? do you all charge this much?
(and i know Ahazi is like the millionaires club. everyone there has money and you have to know someone that knows someone to get anywhere over there. but i like the challenge ./shrug)
Overpowered == Overpriced.
200k to get a pet that lets you effectively be a half-master of another profession is a bargain.

I think you answered your own question actually, because they are overpowered. I think it's a lot like buying a BER 14 mineral harvester, or a set of armor with bio tissues embedded in it, or a so called "pre nerf probot" or such things. You're trying to buy something a bit out of the norm, kinda like buying something on the "black market". The difference here though is that this bug has been around for over 6 months so the pets are not really rare, and are relatively easy to make. It's just a real shame that some BE's feel they need to milk this thing.
*sigh* sometimes this makes me want to just take things into my own hands and flood the market with cheap, uber, CL 10 pets just to force this issue to be dealt with and remove the incentive to exploit this situation.

the risk you run with that is someone doing a dellboy on you and buying all your stock and selling it on for10 times the price.

Yea, plus it would have a detrimental effect in the short term on the game most likely. But things really are getting out of hand. People's expectations of low level pets have just gotten crazy. Here's another example of what I'm talking about:

Sold one I have changed my pricing structure when my pets were cheap they didn't sell, now that I charge 2x's as much they fly off the shelf.
