Thread: To the Moderator: This Forum is out of control

I'm not sure what if anything you can do but this forum is out of control. The bickering, fighting and inflammatory posts are just out fo control.
I will admit Ihave been caught up in the swirl of arguments myselfand actually took a break for a fewdays to clear my head but whats going on now just seems over the top.
Write or wrong I won't claim to judge whether the facts of these arguments are correct but what I will like to comment on is how inflammatory peoples messages are. Do we really needs posts like "I am a man - mathematical proof!" What does this do other than insight anger and an argument? What does this tell us about our correspondant?
I think the root cause is not in what we are saying to each other but the inflamatory language we are using to say it. There's always more thanone way to communicate your opposition to and idea or concept perhaps we all need to bit kinder to each other when responding.
Come on folks, its only a game.

Posting is unlikely to get their attention, if you have a problem with a post use the report abuse to moderator button, if the moderator agrees that a post is against the TOS they will remove it - if they think the offense is bad enough they will issue a forum ban.

Thanks, I will do so.
However the underlying message remains for everyone else to see.
"Maybe we just all need to be a little kinder and less inflamatory when responding to each other"

kind of agree there. Flaming will always occure even with moderators in full force. Just have to keep an eye out on the really bad stuff that might occur.

People have very different ideas of what constitutes a flame, several times this week I've seen people post things that I dont think were intended to be nasty and I certainly wouldnt call a flame but the person on the recieving end took offense, then it escalated into something much more than it should have been.
If you think someone is flaming you just turn the other cheek and dont respond to it.
That said I dont see anything wrong with passionate discussions/arguments, they're normal and healthy. Its when the arguments turn to personal insults that the problem lies IMO. Whenever I see that I hit the report button.
