Ok for my test I used all very high quality samples what I did is use all nuna dna except for 1 slot

in the other slot i used dna from an arcane warrior I made a total of 5templates each with the arcane dna in a different slot

the nuna has no resists specials ranged or armor

The arcane warrior has resists 2 specials ranged and light armor

My testing went like this

1. Physique

Some resists transfer the highest was 12

And special #2 showed up

2. Prowess

Some resists transfered much like above

this one i did 2 times first time special 1 appered

the second time nothing

3. Mental

Minimum stat transfered about 3 was the highest

No special but it gave ranged attack

4. Pyschological

Minimum stats

on this i recieved both specials and ranged

5. Aggression

minimum stats

Both specials

I have alot of testing to do still but I thought I would share my current findings with everyone

and see if anyone had any input

Someone said that resists are an averagefrom all slots, and that seems to fit pretty well (with some varience due to Exp IMO).

From your experiment it seems that:

Physique : Has some bearing on Special 2
Prowess: Has some bearing on Special 1
Mental : Ranged (anything can give ranged if Exped high enough in this slot, thats almost a given now from other threads)
Pyschological: Has a bearing on Specials and Ranged?
Agressions : Has a bearing on Specials

I get the feeling that you need to experiment the base profile to 50%+for a trait to "come though" semi reliably as well, that could be where some of the randomness other folk are seeing is coming from. It may also be possible to "reinforce" a particular special through to the end combine by adding it to a supporting slot (Physique and Aggression for example to bring a certail SA (sa2?) "through").

Sorry about that. I tried making 2 creatures, both using 2 mutant rancor, 2 frenzied graul, 1 arachne widow.

First creature was:
Phys: Mutant
Prow: Mutant
Ment: FG
Psych: FG
Agg: widow

The widow's specials carried over, but the kinetic resist was 45...which is what the mutant rancor's resist is. I thought this was odd, because if it averaged with the grauls, it would be much higher. So, I then tried this:

Phys: Mutant
Prow:FG
Ment: Mutant
Psych: FG
Agg: widow

This time, the kinetic resist was 49. This leads me to believe that Physique and Prowess are the determining factors in the resist category. These critters also ended up being mid 60s in level.

lol I wish I could get enough Mutant rancor DNA to test with

All 5 slots determine resists. It's just that they are not all weighed the same. These are the approx weights for each slot.

Phys: 44%

Prow: 22%

Ment: 6%

Psyc: 6%

Aggr: 22%

These numbers are not exact, but using these percentages for each slot, I can determine the final outcome to within 1-2 points for each resist.

i don't think your numbers are correct. Try putting all the same dna in all the slots but Psyc, put a crap one in psyc and see what happens to your protects accross the board. Bet you it drops much more then 6%

I never said they were completely accurate, but here is your requested test results. Did it backwards though. 4 crappy DNA and 1 good one in Psyc:

4 Gulf Drolg female all High quality

1 Greater Sludge Panther of high quality put into Psyc

Going to compare the acid resist.

Gulf drolg females have 0 acid resist and GSP's have 45 acid resist. The final template after experimentation comes out to be 1 acid resist. This shows that Psyc has a weight of about 2.2% using this example. If you want a range using propper rounding, then if the actual value was between.5 and 1.49 then the weight of Psyc would be 1.11%-3.31%. My numbers are not exact and I do need more examples to bring them into better ranges, but Psyc doesn't hold more weight that 6% in the resist formula.

I do know from my examplesthat by weights Phys>Prowess=Aggression>Mental=Psyc. If you can disprove this, then by all means do. These assumptions are based only on the formation of the resists after full experimentation.

OK What i have used to counter you is this, Only going to look at Kin, took light armor 50% kin threw it in all slots BUT psyc. Kinetic dropped to 24%. Now not saying that you are totaly off, cause i discovered something about armor i just relized a few min ago. i am going to post in a few min, those results may reinforce what you are saying.
