Thread: Is mask scent really needed?
I plain on going up the BE tree to compliment my CH char. The char I plan onbecoming a BE is almost done Mastering Doctor and I want to make him a Master Doctor/Master BE which leaves no skill points available for mask scent.
Am I looking for trouble without Mask Scent, in other words a non playable BE?
Thanks
No, you don't need it, but it makes things a bit harder.
Your method of sampling high level aggro mobs is to run at them, let them chase you down until they give up, then quickly turn around and sample them as they head back to their spawn. Usually this tactic is reserved for the stuff that breaks mask scent, but you'll be doing it all the time.
I can group my 2 pets from my other account (then my BE will have full control over them), if I use them to get aggro will I be able to sample from a creature that is currently in combat?
I am new to this profession soparden my ignorance.
Or you can get a ranger to apply a camo kit on you and go DNA hunting with you. If you're on Corbantis and not a stinky terrorist rebel look me up. I like going out on little missions like this with people and actually being able to use my skills.
Hmm, camo kits that might be a great idea. My CH has Ranger up to 3 on camps, I may untrain the camps and go up the camo side (I won't be able to hit Master Ranger for all planets though).
This will be an interesting adventure.
Thanks for the replies.
Well I ran through a skill calculator and it looks like I wll have enough credits for Master Doctor/Master Bio and up to exploration IV in Scout.
So I will have mask scent after all ![]()
On top of that, I suggest a couple Maskscent-tissue-enhanced pieces of clothing. For a while I was tooling around with some, but due to my negligence had them decay away; afterwards my masks were being broken SO often that sampling from high-end mobs (like Mutant Rancors) was impossible.
Buying a new set of maskscent clothes hasput me back on easy street.
