Thread: How do you inbreed clones?
Hello all,
I'm an artisan, who is starting to get into the BE trade, (not cause a holo told me to), because it seemed interesting to me. Anywho, I'm aiming at learning as much as I can about it. I hear you guys talkin about "inbreeding" clones. I was just wondering what that is and how you do it.
Thanks in advance
This is also theonly way to get low CL clones with high stats.
It's how people got their amazing non-CH creatures on this forum.
Thanks for all the responses guys.....it's much appreciated. One more question, how exactly do i sample dna from a cloned pet? I tried doing it to an untamed pet that i had sitting on the floor, but it didn't work. DoI have to tame it, and then sample?
you should have a sample dna option when bringing up the radial menu on a clone, only post patch clones work.
I find that certain clone bodies work better for certain traites, play around and see if you can turn all your below avg dna into above avg
As far as what inbreeding a clone is: Say you go and sample some Pikets plains walkers (Kin Res 40%) and you only want your clone to end up with Kin Res 40% and 0 to all other types, then you would combine dna until all your dna had those stats, some dna lowers stats others raises them.
Couple notes:
1) it seems impossible/very hard to sample from pre-patch BE clones
2) Dna sampling depends on the CL of the creature. if you make a cl 20+ creature and you have Sample 1.. it will be hard or impossible for you to sample it!
3) DNA inbreed do not work for me. The end result DNA is lower than the original... or better one stat is higher and the other is lower... with a total gain of some points... but still... i think it would be better to have both high! not one that goes to hell as the other rise to heaven. Anyhow i will make a separate thread with all my lab result so far.
Have a nice day

I suspect this is be design, and can actually be advantageous in the long run: by creating extremely specific DNA, we can combine them into a very focused, specialized final product. For example, if your Kinetic resistance is creeping up as your Cold resistance starts to drop, you can eventually get DNA that will produce a critter very resilient to melee attacks, but vulnerable to cold, resulting in pet most players would love.
Tradeoffs are a natural in any situation where you can control nearly every aspect of the final product, so use them to your advantage by getting rid of unwanted traits while boosting your favored ones!
Here's a 7th generation

yes.. i see your point, Kallah. and that is good for armor resitances (who the heck need cold protection anyway?
)
But here i am speaking of the Couplets that determines the HAM bars.
I made 3 generations of PRowness specific inbreeding. in third generation i incapped in the Experimentation bug.. and ok.. but in the first two generation i first had a -75 drop in Dexterity and a +50 in Endurance.. second generation got a -40 in Dex and a +80 in End. a total net result of +15.. but a much lower DEX and a much higher END...
I think this is also a Bug and depends on the "fixed Stats" (Endurance, Courage and Dependability). I'll try for inbreeding of two stats not fixes.. like Hardiness and Fortitude and see what happens.
I'll give that a try and post what I find out. The more I play with this profession the more it interests me. Nothin like makin some clones after a hard day of samplin pikets with barely any sample xp![]()
Thanks again
