I usually wear an Ubese coat, gloves and boots. I'm not worried about the hits I take when on the bike, unless I've sampled mind down low, rather the ones that knock you off and make BE jelly out of you.

oh yeah every time...except maybe on Dath, I'll put on a 4 piece suit of 70% kin ubese for that. The only equipment I ever use for sampling is a cheap bottle of +200 brandy. Long as you stay mounted while sampling, you can get out of range when you get aggroed before they can land a second hit, and you usually get missed when mounted anyway.

The only way I ever get downed is if I've sampled myself to really low mind and they happen to hit me with a head hit, its happened to me maybe 2 times with MH, and they dont DB.

I wear triple comp armor, good brandy and buffs...I like the idea of not having to travel 1500m everytime I fail in a sample. just hop on my bike and lose aggro.

I don't see the point of trying to be a hero by not wearing armour. Imo, there is nothing cool about getting decay on your stuff, wounds and having to travel 5 or so kilometres again just because I didn't wear armour. Armour is like 25k a piece and since most species only need 4 pieces, thats 100k. I used to get buffed before I went to get samples because since I was an active PvPer, I could get a rebel doctor to buff me for free. Even then, it's only 10k - the samples I get are worth more and I don't craft pets for money. And really, if you're going after the reclusive cavern spider queen, or something else high level you really want buffs so someone doesn't kill it in between cloner spawn and travelling back there. Why be a hero?
