Thread: New BE idea

This is kind of a messed up talk me and some guildies got into like if you were talking with your buds. I was telling them about BE and what I do and how we can easily be replaced by certain tweaks. Also told them how I was worried that we could be taken out if the mighty people so fit it. So we came up with an idea to make us very very useful. One thing we thought of was BEs being able to sample DoT weaponry seeing if we can replicated the poison element from that item and transfering it to a new weapon. Now we would have a success rate like smugglers where it would be 25%=total sample, 15% half sample, 10%=1/3rd sample and 0%=failed. If we got the 25% success rate we could fully sample the DoT off the weapon without destroying it however we could only copy 2 items off the weapon such as the str, potency, duration, or uses, if we got str, and potency, duration and uses would be auto set to a certain percentage like 60s at 500 uses with potency and str being auto set to 25% and 70 str. A WS could then transfer the DoT onto any weapon of his/her choosing. However each DoT would require special materials and resources that would range from semi rare to ultra rare. The Higher the str and numbers the rarer the resources along with the type. Mind fire would require stuff like high grade dathomir water, endorian fiberplast, combined with a charge booster like liquid suspension or some such item. Basically us BEs would gain like others a schematic which would be limited use about once maybe twicethen we would make something that transfers to a WS. The price however is dire cause it would be directly linked to our sampling tree and we would have the same risks like destroying the weapon, maybe getting off 1 sample then it being destroyed or sampling the weapon. Rare weaponry like NS lances would have to be excluded cause they are too easy to come by. and anything with high str/potency would raise the meter and anything beyond 400 str we would have a 90% chance of failing on. Something to give us a unique twist.

dont really see how this ties into BE at all? Seems like it should be a CM thing moreso, they're the ones who deal with DoTs like poison and disease. Plus, I get the feeling the devs are shying away from DoT weapons in general...

well how it ties into us is we are Bio Engineers dealing with all things biological. Sure CMs manufacture poison however we would be the ones to study DoT weaponry and produce vials. We already got mention of our secret research data that which pains us all is 1 time use with nearly quadruples the yield on only 1 product. Just trying to figure out more ways for us to branch out. As for DoT weaponry and devs you maybe right, devs might want to start phasing them out in preperation for the CURB. No more DoT weaponry means highest bidder rules

Well it's quite clear that the devs don't like DoT weapons. The crafted ones are weak, there has been the introduction of area poison cures, innoculations and also the fixing of bugged -1 usage weapons. Although it may be a nice idea, it doesn't fit in with the game mechanics and really the devs have more important matters at hand (see the top 5).
