Thread: Wasted proffesion?
Just wondering what your thoughs are.
I started this profession just as a holocron grind but i started to enjoy it. Only for personal enjoyment though, I liked the frankenstein syndrome thing. However i have to say at this point 3/0/3/3 i feel that this is one (if not the most) difficult proffesion to master and the least rewarding for time invested. I dont care what anyone says about uber crafted creatures. I am also a master CH and for every decent pet i can create i can tame 2 others easier with same or better stats. ok so you can create a level 65 kimo with decent resists and 1150 ham...... um is that really that much better than a lvl 50 rancor (1100 ham) with a level 20 sidekick? Just wondering if anyone else feels the same way... does this proffesion need a little more ooomph or what?
This is my thought.....Bye, I'm outa here. After being a MBE for almost half a year waiting on this fix just to have it taken back....I have no words. I'm not waiting around again. I'll find another prof.

I am having fun with this profession hands down. I was under the belief that this was a crafting profession, not a combat profession, and being such we're trying to meet customer's needs, not our own. The advantage I saw of this class was to take that rancor and combine it with a frenzied graul and throw in some new specials for the "frankenstein" durni that it was meant to be. I can see how it wouldn't be very fun if you wanted to go out and fight, but as an ex-weaponsmith, this profession offers (to my limited knowledge) a more extensive variety of finished products than my old class ever could.Making Master Bio-Engineer was way more fun and a whole lot easier than masteringWeaponsmith ever was for me.Just my 2 creds worth though.
I was begining to think I was the only MBE/MCH that actually uses "wild" pets.
I've made a ton of pets, and it's really very few that I'd actually keep and use, like my 12k, AR1 KD/Dizzy, CL 56 Kaadu and my big CL 69 lizard.
In day to day use, there isn't that much difference between using that Kaadu ormy Rancor and the Rancor was a lot cheaper to tame than the Kaadu (In time, resources and outlay in tickets/repair costs/etc)was to make...

This is not a direct insult, just a rant.
People who have now learned what we knew 3 months ago are constantly coming to the boards imparting their wisdom. This is much like a teenager trying to educate his parents. They know everything till they learn just a little more and suddenly become aware that they were stupid. Funny thing is, while they are stupid, they are the only ones that dont know.
Newcommers to the boards should read and not educate.

Well the rancor is light armor with 30%kinetic energy and something else and 60% to most others with 510 damage. (dont remember the other resists other than there are 5 all total). That gurrcat sounds great.. what dna did you use? My point was really this... is your gurrcat that much better to invest a whole proffesion worth of points into? Would those points not be better spent in say... master rifleman or carbine or the like. That pet of yours will last 10 times as long if you could dish out twice as much damage yourself. Anyhow like i said, For the time and skill points invested to get to the point where you can build a slightly better mousetrap is it really worth it? Not arguing.. just looking for your opinion... same or different than mine.
Actually, I feel that it is...I can repeat the recipe and give my other CH friends pets the same as mine, so their wild pets don't get db'd...don't even have a vendor, a friend sells pets for me, but they're the ones that didn't quite come out the way I wanted, the experimental ones...I'm lucky in that I have 2 characters on the same server, my BE is non-combat, but she gets right out there with stuff I would think twice about attacking, and samples away, I think people who try to mix BE and CH would be better off taking a master combat profession, but then they wouldn't be playing their game, not all of us want everything easy, a BE/MCH wouldn't have to run missions, so why would they need a weapon skill? I see the crafting of the perfect pet as a challenge...Every tailor makes the same stuff, weaponsmiths make virtually the same weaponsif they get the sameresources, not my idea of fun...ok, done rambling...
