Thread: 20+ failures on plainswalker pikets in dantooine with dna 3 and moun gold...??

Yes thats right. Im about half a box of DNA 4 away from master, and I have noticed that sometimes I go on a failure streak that seems to last forever. B4 this, I had noticed that the animals I sampled would aggro on a SUCCESSFUL sample, which is nothing Ive noticed before. I thought the animals would only aggro on failure? In anycase, the more important issue is the failure streak.

Something has to be wrong when a near master using moun gold (I have about 1.3k mind, 1.1k focus and 1k in willpower with moun gold has OVER 20 consecutive failures on something as plain as the pikets, no?
Sometimes I get a failure once every 3rd or 4th sample, sometimes higher failure rates. It fluxtuates, no doubt, but what I am describing here isnt a fluxtuation. It is a 100% failure rate...

Relogging seems to fix it though. Any word on this matter?

uhm.. I really really really wish there was an edit button... omg Im so embarrassed...

inventory capacity just showed 101%... (61/60)... Guess that explains the failure rate... I wish a msg would pop instead of just failures when inv is full though!

They need to change the message so you don't get the same one as a fail when your Inv is full. I think we've all done that at some time or another

I get aggrod a lot on successful samples. I also use Muon Gold to keep my mind up, but I have not noticed that it decreases the chance of getting aggrod, although others have said it does.

It does get very frustrating when you get lots of failures in a row. Seems to me some creatures are much harder then others of the same type to get a sample from. I have had streaks of 15 or sofailures on a single Mutant Rancor, but than had much better luck as soon as I started sampling a different Mutant Rancor. Next time you get into a long streak of failures, try switching to a different creature.

Ive not ever gotten a successful sampling and gotten aggro b4 tonight. And I am dna 3, so thats a lot of sampling... And Ive gotten aggro on success maybe every 3rd mob I sample tonight. Something is strange here imo. Or I have just been increadibly lucky, and my luck just ran out

Regarding moun gold, I dont know all the effects of it, except I have concluded, perhaps prematurely, that it helps me get successful samples. I dont know if it helps prevent aggro. I havent really noticed. A failure I suppose heightens the chance of getting aggro, so if the gold heightens the successrate, it will indirectly reduce aggro. Or it might also reduce aggro directly, but as I said, I do not know this, and its probably something BE's before me have tested out and concluded upon.

And yes, an alertmsg when your inv is full while sampling would make the whole process more comfortable, imo. I guess I'll get used to checking my inv more often to prevent such things again in the future though

I use a tip I heard a while ago where you switch from target to target. In a group of three mutants say, sample M1, then switch to M2, then M3, then back to M1. That way it gives them a lot longer to settle down from a mild disturbance and you can just keep on sampling the entire time till they die or aggro.

They certainly seem to aggro a lot less often this way and I get a fair few more samples per trip as a result.
