Thread: Petition to have the CL of a DNA template visible during experimentation

I don't mind about not seeing the final health etc. of the creature I'm making but after making 40 or soCL11 and CL12 pets last night trying to hit that magic CL10 I was getting pretty fed up.

I didn't sell a single dodgy DNA pet, but thanks to a few there is going to be a definate market for genuine CL10 pets from reputable Bio Engineers, and any assistance in trying to placate the horde of players who now hate our profession would be gratefully received. At the moment any CL10 I make is incredibly expensive due to the horde of worthless CL11 and 12's I made. The novice Creature handler in my guild is happy though

Exactly. This would help quite a bit. I'm not making more pets untill this system is fixed to where it should be. Fortunately I never really made more than a few low level pets and those were for some guildmates. I'm not sure if they're bugged right now or not. They weren't anything too special in my oppinion. But I had sold a few pets in the 20's with AR1 so I hope those folks aren't screwed. Give us something more in the template so we know more of what is happening and will know what we need to do to make the pet we're looking for. Fix this class once and for all or I'll have to give up on it. So much for the bio engineer in high demand eh Devs? Why would anyone want a pet that's not going to even keep something off them long enough for them to escape? Then again, I'm wondering why anyone wants a pet at all anymore. It's kind of fun for a short time, but it gets real old real fast. I'd rather be the tank myself. I'm having fun without my pets as a TKA now hehe.

I would love it if they implemented this. All other crafting professions can see the results of every experiment. It's not right we have to work in the dark.

I have a datapad full of CL25-40 "failures" because people needed CL24 or lower or CL34 or lower pets and I overshot by a couple CL.

We've been asking for this since the new system was put into place (even on TC). But in case your new to the BE profession, our assigned "developer" seems to ignore us for the most part.

Nothing is more disheartening than coming up with a CL76 creature heh. At least if it was CL71-CL75 we could sample from it.

Some of the main points that have been brought up:

- DOCUMENTATION on new system
- Show Base Combat Level for DNA template as your working on it. [Base meaning what the lowest possible CL it could be, due to some pets having minimum CL ratings]
- Better DNA sample method, storing DNA in it's current state is inefficient and the system can be improved [read many posts about blood viles]
- More Information on the clones themselves, before we contruct them. Meaning show us if they are "vicious" [non CH can't use], minimum CL and any other stat that might differniate a clone from another one. [such as running speed..etc]
- Leave an ID tag in the actual clone of who created the creature. It's self promoting, but would also prove if the clone was made by a person [in the case of the I want my money back scams].
- Rare resources such as Milk, Egg, Fish need to yeild higher numbers and easier methods for getting them. [Milk is near impossible, fish is overly tedious]. Eggs are the easiest of the 3 to obtain in higher numbers.
- More Tissues and confirm [from a dev] that +25 is the max amount a tissue can improve a skill, even though it may add +100, people believe you only see the benefit of +25.

Those are some of the issues that I feel need some fast attention.

A tracking of CL would be very helpful when experimenting and save us extreme amounts of time - I have a much harder time trying to get a CL 10 Critter than makeing a CL 50+ creature is this supposed to be the case?

I picked BE a while ago because none of my pals had done it yet, at first it was fun, cranking out pets and giving them away, but I find it near impossible to focus on being a 'professional BE' to make 'in-demand' pets. Like everyone else is saying in this post, there is nothing more tedious than crafting 10-15 pets with a CL of 10+ just to get 1 stinking CL 10 or lower pet. More so, who wants to wait hours and hours for a BE to retrieve enough DNA to grind out pets praying they'll hit the lottery and strike that level 10 or lower? If it was I looking for a level 10 pet I'd go pay a creature handler 50,000 credits or so and just save myself the bother. It seems that our profession, while an amazing idea with the potential of a lot of fun, has become more or less the farce of SWG. Anyways, I'm putting BE on hold for a while and focusing on CH... seems to be the best way to supply the demand of pets.

One of the main attractions for people to buy BE pets is the fact you get more customization then you could with a wild one.

It's not even the fact you can potentially have a stronger CL pet then anything found in the wild [of the same CL], but the fact that you can have it colored differently and have different (and possibly deadly) specials put onto it.
