Thread: Creature DL vs DNA Sampling Level
Is there a specific range and/or % failure ratio dependent upon your DNA Sampling Skill level? For the past couple of days I have been traveling around taking varying samples and charting a spreadsheet with Creatures (info, level, meats, hides, etc...) I currently have DNA Sampling 2 and what I am seeing is that I can relatively easily sample creatures up to DL40 but ANY DL45 creatures I haven't been able to sample. Again I ask, is there a % failure/success ratio dependent upon a creatures DL?
This isnt an answer to your question, but a comment on my side. There is a conciderable leap of successratio connected to each tier in the dna skilltree. When comparing the ratio of success on dna 1 and 2, the difference was great. Dna 2 and 3 even more so! Working on 4 now to get master.
It is logical that the creature's CL will dictate your successratio. And it is also logical that at dna 2, there will be a limit to what CL you will be able to get a successful sample from at all.
But of course, this game isnt always dictated by logic, so...
The only cap I know of is the CL75 one for MBE (I'm not saying there aren't others for lower DNA level skills, but I didn't keep notes on it, so I don't know what they were). If you try sampling a mutant rancor as a non MBE you'll fail every time.
Using your info, these two at least you can be sure of:
DNA 2 (DNA Skill 45) = CL 40.
MBE (DNA Skill 100) = CL 75.
