I was just wondering about this. I find my cloning abilities rather limited, because everyone wants light armour these days, and everytime I try sticking some non armored creatures with the armored ones, I end up with AR0.
I read a post somewhere with Tal-N (I think...) mentioning that you could, in fact, put in two creature DNA that have 300ish in fortitude, and the rest with light armour, around fortitude 500, and still end up with AR1. Unfortunately, in a couple of cloning experiments I've done, and no offense to the original post-er of this
,it's really quite jumpy. Then again, I supposeeverything is..
Reason for this, is that some non armored creatures have some pretty **edit** good resists, just without light armour. Hilltop Gurreck Hunters, Prowling Gurrecks, Gaping Spider Queens, just to name a few.. I'm just finding a conclusive way, to stick em in with the rest of the armoured folks, and end up with the resists and armour.
Currently, I'm looking at Mutant Rancors(MR) x2 and Gaping Spider Queens(GSQ) x3. With the MR samples in 1, 4, and the rest in 2,3,5, just as a generation clone for resists. The other way around is fine as well, MR x3, GSQs x2. I would probably go test it out on my own, but having none of the above samples, I was just wondering if I could get a head start by posting on the forums..(Sampling Mutant Rancors and all that......bah!)
By the way, where are those Gaping Spider Queens in Dathomir? I don't think I've come across one yet. Heh...
Thanks in advance for whatever help you guys can provide!

I have my best luck running generation samples, and a high fortitude inslot 5, then cut back on experimentation, if can keep fort around 400 experimentating on physique non armored dna with the resists your after on the generation dna, it usually comes out about 380-410 on combine, then 3-4 points to get the light armor
what I find works for me, your milage may vary

I was having a lot of trouble with this as well, even with only 1 AR0 sample in the mix my fortitude was maxing - agonizingly -at 495, from an initial fortitude of 325 before experimentation. This was in a Research Center, too. I'm 4/2/44, so maybe those extra 25 points of BE assembly at master will make the difference...I don't know.

Master Bio here...
I do alot of mixing with prowling gurreck trying to get Kin and Eng up high. From what I have seen any time you get For over 500 you get AR1. I have used one Mutant Rancor and all prowling gurreck and gotten AR1 easy. Make sure you use the high For in the Physical slot. Each of the 5 slots seems to count as a % of the For attribute... But Physique carries the most weight.
Here is what I used to make low level pets with ar1
Physique: delirious merek avenger: needs a good For 560ish
Prowess: arachne warrior
Mental: venom-filled arachne
Pshchology: venom-filled arachne
Aggression: arachne warrior
All DNA are from Endor
Now experment in Physique until you hit 500... I have made level 15 pets with 10k Ham without armor... With armor they are Lv25

Using simple math, if you're using dna which has fortitude just skirting the 500 mark then you need the armored dna in the temple at around a 3/2 ratio for non-armored dna. Naturallythe higher you have the fortitude the less you need non-armored dna in there. Typically if you want to get the bear minimum then you need the dna arranged as 500/500/300/300/500 for fortitude in the slots, you then experiment that up a bit. However lets say you have mutant rancor dna in slot 1, one of the possible minimums then is roughly 750/300/300/300/300 meaning you have a 1/5 armored ratio. Naturally if you want to be assured of having armor then ideally you need a minimum of 400 fortitude in every slot.

I think he might be referring to a post that I made, and yea, the 500/500/300/300/500 thing sounds about right. From my own experiments, you generally need about 330 fortitude in the combine prior to experimentation to get light armor.

I personally say 400+ on the initial combine just to be on the safe side.
