It seems like highest I can go is regular rancor, is this another wookiee nerf or does it only work 1 time in 100?

I do not have any more difficulty than anyone else.... What Wookie nerf? Wookies are fine.

Only been once, but managed to come back with 10 samples and only died once. This may just be a fluke, probably is, but some of this may help.
1) The more creatures in range the attempts there are to break MS, so try going after singles or just picking your angle of approach.
2) Seems to me, not that it's based on a large data set, but if they can't see you they get no attempt. If there's a peice of terrain between you such as a tree or large rock that would prohibit you from attacking it appears to be working in reverse for MS. I was able to sneak upto several very easily by getting a tree in the way and then just walking right up, when you come round the tree you're well within the 26m (?) check point and hence they don't seem to be breaking the MS. Worked 5/5 for me, marked contrast to sneaking in the open.
3) On a similar note to 2, I'd just cleared out a group of 5 and was sat medding when they started respawning. Crapped myself but my MS held up, again I don't think they got a chance to break MS because I was sat within 5-10m of them already.
4) Injured Rancors are less agressive and even if they do come after you they can't run fast enough to catch you even without burst run. If you do aggro one, don't run away, run into the group and out the other side. The area attacks will aggro the rest of the group who'll pile on the original. If you don't survive, by the time you get back they group will be on low health and ready for sampling.
5) Try aggroing an injured rancor, get it to chase you away from the rest, don't out run it and break combat until it's well away from the rest. Bingo, you have a wounded rancor on it's own, reach for your biggest syringe!
hope this helps, gl

I really like to keep my Bike really close when sampling the Super Mobs... Very hard with the Mutant rancors. I agree with sneeking up on them... Hiding behind trees and crawling does help. I have also had the experance of 5 Mutants spawning on top of me (making me crap my pants) but they did not break MS... My fail rate is pretty high incompairson to other mobs but the Mutants are 20 lv higher than pretty much everything else.

Actually, they do get a chance to break your MS. I've had it happen to me before as I sat there medding and new ones were spawning.

went sampling with my wookie MCH-MBE andmy alt account master ranger. i was there for7 hours, and got 130 samples.
no trouble sampling.
much trouble running two accounts and having to hit Camo on the wookie whenever it dropped, which it did numerous times. i burned up about 100 camo kits (field created, crappy components, 6 charges each kit).

Mutant Rancor sampling hmm....
Even though I've wasted over 300 samples of Mutant Rancor experimenting my first week of BE,here is what I've found out.
Bikes won't really work me, they tend to over shoot on dismount or under shoot where I end up further back or further in front. The only way I would recommend using a bike if this happens is to ride the bike close enough to aggro a Mutant Rancor and draw it away from a group. Dismount from bike and run away from it at a steady pace, it'll eventually get bored of you(lucky) I'm a meleeclass so the damage they do doesn't bother me. Gah, guessing he can't wear armor heh. Get plent of stims perhaps. Bring friends!
It's easier to just get a few at a time to aggro each other and have a friend beat on one of them if you can't handle them yourself. The whole idea of letting the group attack each other isn't that great. Too much waiting time. You end up having to kill 6 to sample one
Rancors being low on health isn't great either. When they run after you I've noticed that you'll be stuck in combat mode for a long while(could be a bug) I've gotten stuck like that for 5 mins. Nothing more to say on the matter, maskscent isn't really effective at te bare essentials.
But before doing this check the area a few times to make sure it's not entirely filled with Rancors
I'll bring this into the subject for now.
My firsttwo nights of collecting samples was easy.My third wasn't.
Starting to wonder if BF affects sampling. But I did get healed up and now sampling anything is just horrible.
