Ladies and gentlemen, may I say that this is a great profession!
I'll come right out and tell everyone that I did holo grind through it, but I'm having so much fun, especially now that I'm MBE. I just wanted to share a little something with everyone.
To commemorate my one week anniversary as MBE, no I haven't dropped it yet but will need to soon to get skill points back for WS, I decided to take a trip out to Dathomir. Upon arrival, I immediately set out to find a group I could join so that I could pick up some rancor missions. I was little surprised when none were kind enough to let me join. So to pass the time, I picked up a few Gaping Spider missions, and set out on my way. After picking up a sample or two I, quickly died at the hands of 3 Spiders on aggro.
Once I cloned back in the outpost, I stepped outside and asked if anyone could point me in the direction of some rancor. One person was kind enough to at least tell me to head west. I applied mask scent and off I went. Somehow I was able to go undetected throughout my trek across Dathomir. I happened to see several creatures I would go back and sample later, but none were worth taking time away from the rancors I was after. Finally after about 1500-2000 m of travel on foot, I found my rancor. I looked at it and saw that it was a Nightsister Rancor. Taking a quick look around, I was able to find a Gnarled Rancor and a baby, and a 2nd Nightsister Rancor as well as the Nightsister Rancor Tamer.
(Doesn't this situation just sound promising? :smileywink
I then take a second to gather my wits (and my balls), reapply maskscent and go in for the sample. Walked up to the firsts rancor, hit sample and 30 seconds later.....Success! VHQ! I immediately /tell a guildie asking if what I'm doing is a good idea, and he responds with as long as you live it is. Anyway, I'm able to get two more samples from the first rancor before it dies on me, one HQ the other AA. Feeling a bit more confident I turn to the second Nightsister Rancor and hit sample....Success! and aggro! There really wasn't any point in trying to run, so I stood there and took it like a good unarmored, unbuffed Twi'lek should. Before my untimely demise, I was able to create a WP so I could head back. I wasn't quite as lucky on my return trek to the spot this time, as everything attacked me. I decided to call it quits for the night, but I'm about to head out there in a few if I can ever connect to the network.
Just wanted to share a little experience with everyone. Oh, has anyone else ever been able to sample the Nightsister Rancors? I just haven't seen anything on here about them. Those of you who have seen them know how amazing the stats are, and for those inquiring minds, as soon as we can get on I'll post the data from the VHQ sample for everyone to see.
Happy Sampling!

I wanted to sample Nightsister Rancors, but the tamers kept attacking me. I have -5000 faction points with the Nightsisters, so they hate me. On the other hand, I have +5000 faction standing with the Singing Mountain Clan, so, even though the tamers are red to me, they don't attack me. I was able to get dozens of SMC Rancor samples, but only one Nightsister Rancor sample. If I start killing Single Mountain Clan mobs, I can very quickly get the numbers reversed and be able to easily sample the NRs but have a hard time sampling the SMCRs.
The only difference between the rancors, as far as BE samples go, is NRs have Cripple as special attack 1, but no special attack 2. And, SMCRs have no special attack 1 and Intimidate as special attack 2. The main advantages, I think, are they both have 60% Energy Resist and 100% Electrical Resist.

I have sampled a number of the nightsister and singing mtn rancor. The force strike will not come through to the clones however
This was either intended by the devs, or bugged.) You will more than likely lose a special when crafting into creatures

Tip - One nice compromise is to mix and match Night Sister and Singing Mountain rancors so that you get a special in slot 1 and slot 2 and don't have to dillute the resists.
Put the type with a valid special 1 in Aggression and the other in Psych.

force strike will notclone in the final pet.... but those 100 resists are too good to pass up.....
if you want good smc and ns faction bring your ns faction to 5k bye killing a bunch of smc, then try out the nightspider cave until you have 5k smc faction too
happy sampling
