Thread: Factory time shortened? Or am I delusional?

I put some med components in the factory and was surprised when I saw the time per object.. 144 seconds, I can swear it was twice that last time. That means a full factory run will "only" take 1.67 days, instead of 3.5 or something.. I like it, but then again.. I could just be imagining it, might all be a dream.. *pinch*

Anyone else seen a change in this?

I haven't checked, but 144 sounds about right for the subs (like aBEC, aLS, that kind of thing). The factory time per unit is a function of the complexity of the schematic. That is why the subs tend to take less time than the final product (on a per unit basis).

It is also possible that you experimented differently with this schematic. Each experimentation roll adds 2 seconds to the per unit factory time. Not a huge difference, but if you are a 12 point BE it can add up to 18 seconds per unit or 18000 seconds which is still only 5 hours.

In short, I don't know (but I am still going to submit this anyway)...

experimentation is a major factor in determining factory times. Just for kicks, take some junk resources and make a schem for... anything. DO NOT EXPERIMENT ON IT. Then make the same thing and use all your experimentation points one at a time. Then make the same thing and use all of your experimentation points in one roll. You will see that non-experimented things take MUCH less time in the factory, while using all your points at once takes longer, and finally, using all the point one ata time takes the longest. You will also notice that the complexity is higher with a greater number of experimentation rolls. aka: the higher your complexity, the longer a factory takes to make it. So, if it really matters, then do as much of your experimenting as you can in as few tries as you can. Personally, I don't really care, I just throw stuff in the factory and if its finished the next time i feel like crafting, then good. If not, oh well

Factory time is decided by how many experimentation steps it takes to hit the end result. With my resources, it typically takes 3 experimentations to hit my MNS+57's. Occasionally I hit an amazing success that does the job in just two. The end result is the same, just fewer steps. The schematics that took only two steps have a considerably shorter time in the factory (about 20-30sec per item if I recall).
