To take over a Faction NPC Base, your side must do the following:
1) Jam the Uplink Terminal (requires Bounty Hunter: Investigation II)
2) Slice the Security Terminal (requires Smuggler, Slicing I: Terminals)
3) DNA sequence the Override Terminal (requires Novice Bio-Engineer)
4) Switch alignment of the Power Regulator (requires Commando, Heavy Support Weapons I)
5) Activate overload at primary terminal (anyone can do)
I know there was an article made that gave information about player faction bases, but for the life of me i can not find it. Can anyone do one of the following for me.
Either:
1) Tell me everything about player bases
OR
2) Give me a link to that article that says all the info about player bases.
Thanks for any and all replies!
I did it and got 1000 Bio-Engineer crafting experience, but overall it wasn't worth it. The base never works; one terminal always breaks. I'm not planning on making attempts to attack anymore faction bases until I hear of one that works fully, unless I really need the extra faction and BE craft xp (and the latter is tempting in fact, since grinding is a pain).
But yeah, the terminal took forever. The first time I did it I had two people there who knew DNA material in real life and fed me the info to do it. Given the other terminals took like 5 seconds each, I was rather surprised that mine took 10 minutes or more of choosing DNA sequences and pairing stuff up. For a minute we were afraid the base would respawn rebels because it was taking so long for my terminal to get anywhere. Quite the contrast with the others... if it was even twice as long that would be one thing... but it was incredibly longer.
Anyway, another time I went and planned to guess since I got this feeling you didn't have to really know the answers at all but just keep clicking until you got enough right (with no nasty consequence to getting a bunch wrong it seemed), but the terminals were locked as finished while the final was still broken and the base couldn't be reset. Another base had the first terminal broken so we never got to mine.
So in other words you gotta have a spy... So there's no way to find out if you're from the opposite faction??? Even if you fight your way down you can't find out somehow???
