Thread: Does BE still suck or is it fun now?

Pleased to see you are back on the forums ... I'm still a BE and I have moved onto other things as well but they mostly involve my house (which is not longer a tip and we can have people over) and spending more time with the kids and also working - so not game related...
When I do find time to play ... well here is the state of the art (as i see it) now ... I hate to say what I'm gonna say b/c you are one of my favorite people in SWG but ...
There is good stuff being done with generational cloning in BE. Rachna on our server is making 8K pets with 450 damage ... but once you've done that, there isn't all that much to do - b/c you've done it ... there is nowhere else to go after that other than keeping a petshop/BE shop running. They took the specials out of BE and put them in CH like you said they would ... and crippled BE and right now the CH's aren't really buying pets ... we no longer have the constant challenge of coming up with new and different combos.
We can make level 10's with 3K health and like 128 damage and with 1K health and 240 damage and with 2300 health and 180 damage. So both ends of the spectrum and the middle range too. Still better than wild and more range as well since the aggro skins don't apply but the mount problem remains.
They seem to be targetting us for /ignore and /annoy dev modes.
Example: they made the entertainers all give new crafting buffs that they have to be at the keyb to give. The BE one only applies to PET CRAFTING !!!!! sheeesh - just where you don't need it.
Seems that BE pets are short 1 ability slot to 3 ability slots on a level 70 over their wild compatriats and that some of the CH specials are not showing up as WORKING on BE pets although they are using a slot.
General consensus is that ... you can make better pets than wild ones ... just because they hit 2x as fast (the BE ones).
I'm still finding the combat part of lack of levels frustrating although Dor is a healer now and greatly useful in groups - we did the avatar platform last night and did all right ...

Can you tell i'm underexcited about the whole thing? Well, it's very sad but that's how it is ... Kao has practically stopped playing his BE altogether and is hanging out with us now on Bloodfin.
If you are still a BE then I'd play your BE for a while and see what you think. If you aren't then ... don't use your final respec to get back into BE ... not now ![]()

Interesting. Doesn't sound like much has changed, not for the better anyway. Of course I was only gone for two months but even so...
The game is still biased heavily toward combatants I imagine. Any word about crafters getting some love anytime soon? I read where smugglers will not be able to craft spice any longer and sliced weapons will not be able to be sold on vendors. Sort of puts the kabosh on selling old sliced weapons that people have replaced for better items.
Guess I'll hang out in space for a month then put Bub back on the shelf for a while, at least until the next expansion comes out.

There really haven't been many changes in BE since the CU went live. The tailor tissues were fixed, but at least 3 of them are still either broken or useless (i.e. Myoflex). I am finding that there is a market out there for non-pet products, but it is a crafting profession which typically means it can become a job rather than a game.
Just my 2 credits worth...
