It will still be very worth while to get master CH. Most of the changes are to what level of pet you can have as you gain skills. They're just spread out more through the entire tree in the new sysytem. The changes aren't even on the test server yet so they will be a while before they go live.

definately go for master. especially since you still have time before the nerf. i just reached master creature handler last night (yay me!). supposedly the nerf is yet to make it to the test center. i would guess that you have at least a month or more to make it

best thing to do would be to get management 3 and then use 2 pets simultaneously to get double the XP. i was using 2 pets on dathomir to take on kamurith defiler missions in groups. i was getting approximately 1500 CH XP total per kill.

good luck!

It's really only useful if you want to try to create pets that are a certain level. For a new BE, I'd recommend going out and sampling everything in sight and seeing what you can come up with

I'm a relative Newbie here. I used to play long ago, and was a ranger way back when. Now after a 6 month hiatus I am back and working my back up through Ranger, in my opinion, the best profession there is. It's not about being uber, it's about exploration and being self reliant. I love it!

PS. . . just like a Newbie, I accidently posted this first in the Rifleman Forum. . .LOL

Welcome back. I'm a newb for real, just having started SWG about a month ago. I'm working on the last half of the final MRifleman box and am 4230 in MRanger. That 0 is going to cause problems though, being CL63, I'll need to dump off some rifleman to lower my CL to where I can actually get trapping XP.

Ranger is where it's at. Everything else is 'easy', even the MBH investigation. With an MBH, you have so many left over points that you can dabble with all kinds of combat abilities. With MRanger, I find getting to MRifleman to fill up my play card and will have to learn to be self-reliant with that.

Hopefully the Combat Upgrade (CU) hasn't put too much of a damper on your enthusiasm. I never knew SWG before the CU, but I know I've read a lot of complaints about it. Oh well, CU is where we're at.

Now if only we could get some Ranger-loving by the Devs.

I actually killed my account after trying the CU on the test center.. . god I hated it. I jumped around from Final Fantasy 11 to Guild Wars, and then randomly said what the hell, I wanna play SWG again. It's an addiction. Well, after a day or two to get used to the CU, I decided, I really dig it now. I'm not stoked about how everyone refers to critters now by their lvl and not the name, that feels a little too much like EQ, but I'm willing to overlook it.

I shot myself in the foot thoughby climbing up my weapon skills to fast. Last night I had to forfeit all my elite Rifle skills so I can land traps. Oh well, it's only a game, nothing to get butt-hurt about. As long as I look towards the future, and keep reminding myself I'll be a Ranger again, then I'm ok.
