Thread: What are you charging for egg, milk and mollusk products?
I've been charging 100 cr per bonus point, for the highest tissue bonus. For example, a Tensile Resistance tissue, +4/+16, I sell at 1600 cr.
I recently told a tailor my Enhanced Myoflex tissues would be priced at 200 per point, because of the eggs. Some people seem to be able to collect these easily. It took me days to collect enough eggs to make a single crate of +16/+16 Enhanced Myoflex, which I wanted to sell at 3200 cr.
Then there's the milk and mollusk products. I've heard of people selling milk at 10-100k per unit. Yikes! I'd been considering doubling my price yet again, and charging 400 per point for Mimetric Circuitry or Active Tranquilizers (i.e. +16 would go for 6400 per tissue).
Are these egg or milk prices reasonable? The Tailor in question told me nobody'd buy clothing made with Myoflex tissues at this price. On the other hand, the Tailor in question runs his business out of Rori. So I'm not surprised there's little demand for this particular tissue.
But given the auction prices I've been seeing for milk, I'm almost thinking 400 per bonus point isn't enough for the Tranquilizer tissues.
Are other BEs charging differently for egg, milk and mollusk tissues?
This is a really difficult question to answer, here's why:
1) advanced myoflex is probably the least useful tissue to a tailor. Why? because entertainers have very little incentive to heal people more efficiently, they change outfits so frequently that they don't like to be "tied down" to any particular piece of clothing, and also with the new stacking that we got this last patch, I can take a crate of +5 myoflex tissues and in some cases come up with clothing items that have +10, +15, or even +20 on them, so in all honestly, as a tailor, I wouldn't pay that high a price for a crate of that stuff myself.
2) you can't buy eggs in that sort of quantity (520+ stacks), so really what you are valuing is simply your time in gathering them yourself. How much is your time worth to you? this is the question. When you start looking at it that way, it's difficult to part with a big stack of eggs like that for less than say 100k.
My advice: look at a crate of advance myoflex not as a commodity, but as a rarity, cause that's what it is. You can't really put a price on it, and its value is mostly based on its scarceness not based on its usefulness. Keep it, give it to a close friend, or put it on a shelf and admire it, cause you're never going to get any reasonable value for it. And the next time a tailor approaches you and asks you for a crate of it, tell them you'll charge the same as for any other crate, only they must supply the eggs.

i bought 100 units of milk for 100k
i sold 4 tissues of +16/+16 for 75k-100k each EASILY
ditto for mollusks..got around 30 of mollusks from someone, bought it for around 50k
if you find milk and buy it, its really easy to make a profit in short term
Good approach. Thanks for the feedback. Duh, never occured to me to have the customer supply the eggs. ![]()
Milk's another story. The whopping 42 units I've managed to collect so far involved a lot of fighting, sneaking and waiting, in hopes of a respawn. There will never be crates made, and in fact I'll only ever make Tranquilizer tissues on request. So I guess asking for the customer to supply the milk (or mollusks, for Mimetic) is also a good approach.
I would charge it based on 2 factors:
1. How much you value your time.
A top-end 'mission-farmer' such a CH/Commando can easily earn 100K-200K per hour with 200K being the top end and 100K being the minimum if he is serious abt the missions and not goofing around. Let take the median e.g. 150K per hour.
Say you can collect 150 eggs per hour i.e. seriouslygoing from lair to lair to collect. Each egg thus is worth 1K using this pricing method. Say you then use 15 eggs in an advanced myoflex tissue, thus the price for that tissue should be at least 15K perhaps 16-17K.
If you are not getting that much, I would suggest changing profession if money is your top concern. Of course some people do it for pure 'fun' which is fine by me. Some people also value their time at a much lower rate too e.g. perhap 50K an hour, thusthe price will be around 5-6K.
2. What the market can bear.
Yeah, so now you have calculated what you think it should go at e.g. lets take the hypothetical example above i.e. 16K per tissue. But hey, the 10 other BE around you is charging 2K per tissue. You can a.keep your price b. lower it to match theirs c. undercut them d. set it at a median price somewhere between yours and theirs.
A lot this again boils down to point 1. You can lower you price to a point where you are un-willing to accept anything lower than X return per hour. Say another BE also collected 150 eggs in 1 hr but charge 2K per tissue. What that BE is then saying is that he is willing to accept a return of 20K per hour for his time. A bit low if you ask me but hey if he is willing to accept that in the long term, that is fine. Typically from what I understand, if the return is too low, unless he is doing for the sheer love of the BE tissue crafting, most likely he will leave the vendoring of tissues sooner or later. Alternatively another good suggestion I've read on the board here is to just buy out his/her tissues and resell it
.
I am not advocating a particular price for a specific piece of tissues or tissue components. As a rule of thumb, I personally value my time at around 150K per hour. Lowest I will go is 100K per hour. Any lower, I leave it to the other BEs.
One other thing that also needs to be taken into consideration and that is Inflation. 1 cr today is not the same as 1 cr 3 months from now nor is it the same as 1 cr 3 months back. One thing I remember when I was playing Earth and Beyond was the price of the Fury was 50M and that was a huge amount at that them. I spent abt 6-8 weeks to gather that 50M. 3 months later, I checked with a friend of mine who was still in the game and price of the Fury was 800M now. As more and more people pull credits out of thin air (though the expenditure of time), credits will be devalue-ing at an ever increasing rate as people gets stronger and are armed with better weapons/armors/etc.
I have 300 units of egg for sale on wonderhome, if anyone wants them make me an offer.
I'll get the stats next time I log on.
If you are selling your tissues, you are too cheap. If you are making quality stuff you can get 200 credits per... and have enough profit to operate confortably.
I sell Enhanced Myo for 5k, they are usually 15-15 or 16-16. It seems they require that they be a common serial number to use which takes a factory. In making a Schematic, you have already lost you first 15 eggs in a stack for the schematic and any failures will take out more so you really have to have a big stack to start.
