Ugh, don't you hate being away for awhile and having to face pages and pages of boards to catch up?

/sigh

Well only one real concern for me with the new cloning system and that is special attacks. Since SOE in their infinite wisdom still won't give us character copies, has anyone gotten to play with the new system? If so, are special attacks DNA dependent or Creature Shell dependent? The ability to couple specific specials (or always force one in paritcular like poison) is what I think the drawing power of our clones will be.

Surprize surprize.. the new system is currently totally broken on the TC. No one can even make a clone and the dna stats are apparently unchanged and lacking any additional details. We reported this on the same day it went lto the TC, the devs just updated today and it's still not repaired. The patch is due out in the week of the 13th meaning it's going to get less than a weeks testing unless Keldarin gets his act together and fixes it before the end of this week.

Unless they yank it from this comingpatch and tell us, "sorry we weren't able to work the bugs out but look for it in the next big patch."

Well that would probably cause a major riot considering what we've been put through this past 6 months, to have yet another promise broken would really push people too far I think. They can argue that they want to ensure they give us a working system all they want, we agree with that. But they've crossed the line now by putting it onto the TC, they should know better than to give us a taste of the fixes and then pull it away at last minute.

In my opinion Keldarin is walking a very very very fine line. If the system is broken or whatver he's going to see alot of abuse being hurled his way, if he pulls the system backfrom the patch to avoid that then the same happens. Like i said a few weeks ago he's putting all of his eggs into one basket. This can either work out very well or it can all go horribly wrong. There is no middle ground considering what bio-engineers have tolerated this far.

Thanks for the speedy response Tal-N. I agree with ya... they need to get this fixed and working and tested.

If Bio-Engineering doesn't get a lot better next update, I'm just ditching it and doing something that does work. /shrug That's just all there is to it. I've done it, it's interesting, the potential is there to do some really cool things...but dammit, if it's not gonna work, I'm not gonna waste my time.
