The new TC patch will make it so all non ch players will have to use cl10 or lower pets versus the current cl level of 15. The cl level and stats of wild creatures will change dramatically as well , with most pets receiving lower stats than they have now, including the removal of armor and the lowering of resists. While the requirment for every combat class to have a pet may be reduced with the changes to wild pets level and the proposed ham changes - i believe there will still be a high demand for better pets. The TC notes say that players will be able to hand in their pets and get a modified pet in return - will not go over well with most people so I see some opportunity here for us to become the valuable profession that we all believe is possible with some of the changes coming at us. Now the questions :-)

I was wondering if we would be able to , with our new changes, create the best non-ch pets post patch compared to what a CH could tame in the wild.

Does anyone know orhave an educated guess on how we could make a cl 10 pet with armor for example with the current mix of pets that are now wild on test center?

Can you mix and match dna samples when creating the generic dna template so that the cl level is somewhat independant of the armor/resists/specials for example?

I would think that we will NOT be able to get armor onto CL 10 critter. I would be surprised if we can put armor on anything less than CL 25 in fact. Also, I'm guessing here, but I would think we MIGHT be able to get kinetic OR energy resists to 25%, but it's unlikely and certainly won't get both that high and probably come at the expense of a vulnerablity to everything else.

If the mount release is anything to go by, I think we can expect the "modified" pet to be a reduction of the pets statsto the maximum allowable level 10 stats. This means the pet will be as good or better than any level 10 creature any BE can make. To get a creature than good we would need perfect DNA, and perfect creature/flora food which includes UT=1000 (rofl). I think they only place we will gain out of this is that vitality pack sales. These saleswill go up because the modified pet will be better than anything that can be tamed in the wild or realistically made by a BE.
