Working as intended.
Well I haven't logged her since. Was that part of the plan too?
If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen...
If you can't run with the big dogs, stay off the porch...
BUT!!!!
I'll try to be helpful here \/
1) use a macro for taking DNA! sit down while you are sampling and your mind will never run out. There are many examples of this macro on this forum. Mine dismounts me, samples dna from target, sits, waits, stands, and mounts bike. So I'm sitting on my bike when the sample process finishes. If you think there is a reasonable chance to get away from what your are sampling, this is the way to go. Having a pet out on guard will take the aggro off you for a second or two also, and will help your getaway.
2) getting rid of aggro: this is easier than you'd think: just take the incap. The instinct is to run, but don't. Just make sure you don't get got by the same type of critter 3 times in 10 mins and you'll be ok. There are many things on dath that don't deathblow (i'll let you learn that one yourself
My BE is lvl 18 and I get DNA from dath all the time. Some of my recipes take dath DNA and its a pain. I like getting Malkloc Bull missions (lvl 65 for me) and using that DNA for some things. It also provides a 'safe' spot of yellow cons on the map
general non-specific rant: Its posts like this one that make me wonder why people only charge 1k / pet lvl. I do not. I charge a TON just for this type of reason. Getting good DNA takes time, and time is worth creds.
Run with the big dogs?
I guess...
So the big dogs dies a bazillion times and what?
Yea, das all good man. It makes it hard when I have to unload 40 hrs of game and charge millions for a pet.
What I said at the beginning. Get a grip

I have a pet theory (file this under BE superstitions please) ... that when a creature aggros on you, you get a sort of a critter-TEF ... ie. that almost everything that can break scent will do so and everything that has a reason to aggro on you will do so ... for a limited period of time after you get aggro'd. So ... two ways I believe thatyou can fix this: 1. get incapped or slain - that will reset it 2. go and sit quietly somewhere for about 5-10 minutes to let it go away.
I am not entirely sure that 2 works - it might all be in my head this critter TEF thing - but - I am not hurt by doing it (unless drinking too much coffee hurts you) and some days it does seem to help.

PS. Another tip is ... if you use malkloc bull DNA and you are glowy - then there are often bulls (at least on bloodfin) hanging around the village on the way back to the science outpost. Why not make a stop and grab some samples every time you have already visited the village and are on your way home? I call this the malkloc express and I take it every time I have remembered to register and insure my clone when heading out on dathomir.
PPS. Practice taking off all your expensive armor - emptying your pack of anything nice - insuring what's left - registering your clone - and saying 'oops' a lot. When you have very little on you and no risk of limb transplantation - it doesn't really matter if you get incapped does it?
very nice because of the low fortitude/high hardiness mix but if you have a 1000 hardiness/1000 power sample you'll want to use that carefully or end up going over level 70 on the deed.
