Thread: brand new +17 unarmed dmg/terrain negotiation
with regard to the surveying tissues - has anyone tested if the chance of a better/bigger/successful sample occurs with the survey clothing? I always wondered it that is what they are 'good' for rather than bumping up the range of a survey tool to the next level. Apologies if this is a FAQ - I wasn't following the post-CU testing of tissues much.

survey tissues do nothing. survey food and FS mods work.
maskscent/camo works... as much as maskscent and camo work (more an artifact of CL than skill).
terrain negotiation works. unarmed damage MAY work, but only TRUE unarmed (ie: NO weapon, not even a knuckler)... reports vary, but I've heard NO reports of it ever working with a weapon.
healing eff works... less now than before p21.
cure eff may work, but doesn't do anything worthwhile. aug eff was listing as a bad code string, and not working... if it HAS been fixed, it will only increase the DURATION and not the EFFICACY of the buff.
myoflex is lost for now.
melee/ranged defense have NOT been shown to work. of course, they may be working, but +25 may be too small to see any difference in incoming damage.
taming tissues may work. or not.
concerning ALL BioE mods:
+25 is the cap. +25 IS THE CAP. any display that indicates a value past +25 is a display error.* the 'best' BioE mods are +13... two of them clear +25 total, and the resources needed for a +13 are much more affordable/available than a +17...+19 mod.
no item of clothing can take more than one RFP enhancement. very few items can take a single RFP enhancement. SC enhancements are FAR more common.
*a toon can see (and use) a bonus BEYOND +25 with spice, food, or squad leader bonuses.
To put a stop to this broken BE mods rumor:
they DO work (ok maybe not all, but i def. know defense works, reduces damage taken from 200 to 195 for me), BUT:
when testing changing clothes, the stats will only be applied when either:
logging off for 15 minutes OR (easier) changing weapons.
*goes back to the tailor grind to put out some nice BE clothes*
ps: oh yes, like previous poster said: all stats are capped at 25, that you see more is a display bug.

i think we are missing the point on what melee/ranged defense mod actually does, You WONT see a difference in incoming damage, its the chance/percentage of being shot/missed when being attacked. SO if you have 100 melee defense, you will get hit often, if you have 300 +500 cob you will be hit alot less. Not less Damage

Terrain Negotiations works for sure, and crafting experimentation as well. I noticed it on my alt.
crafting experimentation?
Just an added Note about Taming Tissues. - 8/13/05
I am currently CH 0100 with no ability to Tame Vicious Creatures. W/o my Taming Clothes on, I receive a message "You are unable to Tame this Creature", I put my +14 Clothes on, and I successfully tame a Giant Carrion Spat (CL 14, Vicious). I would have to say they work, thus I am looking for Taming clothes to get me the remaining +11.

The Taming tissues do work. They made a significant difference pre-CU and a worthwhile one post.
