Just out of curiousity lets see here...

First lets even out the HAM for starters to make this a fair check, thats 5666 in a pool. Effective vs energy is 5666, effective vs kinetic is 9768. DPS is hard to tell since you didn't list the speed so lets assume 2.0 for a tough guess. The DPS is then 70. Throwing it against the probot we find it works out like this...

Clone kills probot in 78 seconds.

Probot kills clone in 177 seconds.

So yes, this clone does indeed seem to be a little overpowered, if the probot caused kinetic damage you certainly would see a far larger margin. Looking at the averaged HAM it appears to be around CL18-20 in actuality. Clones are supposed to be around CL13-15 for their equivilent stats.

I'd concur with the CL18-20. But since CL is not a BE created stat, how does that happen? If it's a bug, are you all seeing it happen every once in a while? I didn't doubt the guy in the original post, but supposedly these were all 'fixed' in the last patch.

What do you mean the CL isn'ta BE created stat? The stats dictate the CL and the CL dictates the stats. They're supposed to be one and the same however the system isn't accurately measuring all stats and is thus giving false CL ratings. We've been seeing this for ages because Keldarin didn't design the system very well at all.

Bad wording choice on my part. You don't have primary control over the CL, that it is supposed to be a calc based on other stats.

But I don't see the combined HAM, resists, and damage of this ever validly being level 8 no matter what the other stats are.

You forget clones are on a seperate CL standard to wild animals, our CL8 is equal to around CL13 for wild animals. Or rather it should be but thats not what we're getting all the time.

keep in mind there are 10 total stats which determine cl, not including special attacks/ranged or resists, but for the sake of argument we will ignore those for a second

when you resample a clone, all its stats fall short of the original

cloning a new one and just experimenting on say, physical (health HAM bar) just those stats rise as the others fall if you continue to resample clones.......

that's the inherent flaw in the system.... the resampling of clones, but the multigenerational pets will also have less attack dmg, speed, courage (they'll most likely run away from a fight instead of stand their ground)

I wouldn't call the decrease a problem really, if it wasn't for the generationalizing it would be impossible to fine tune certain clones. The problem which exists is that a very high quality sample appears to still only give around 80% of the stats the animal actually has when personally I think it should give around 95% since it's the highest possible. That would mean novices and sub-masters would have a benefit when working with master BEs by allow them to take poorer samples which help speed up the generationalizing.
