I've read the FAQs, browsed through the forums, searched the forums, but haven't come to any better understanding.
How do I determine the level of a creature I've just made?
The problem is this: I have a level 9 creature, and it turns into a level 12 one when tamed, or into a level 9 one with utterly sucky stats.
Now I've been told that this is because creature handlers were whining about BE pets being better than tamed pets (Well. DUH), so it got nerfed. Fine. Good. Okay. No problem (think it's a little overdone and stupid, but still)..
But how on earth can I determine the level of a creature if what the game says simply isn't true? I consider this a rather annoying bug, to be honest. I'm sure this question must have been asked before.
SO if I want to sell a level 10 to a non creature handler, I have absolutely no idea if the level 10 I made will actually stay a level 10 and be useable, so I can't even really sell it. This rather bites.
Mad.

You find a recipe you like, you test it, and then you use it for your non-ch pets. The pet level check is broken as it nerfs pets that aren't really any better than wild while it allows pets that are 10k with 60% kinetic resists be tamed.

So basically I've just got to keep trying, ignore the level on the actual pet, tame it, see if it's level 10, and then rince and repeat?
And BE does seem to be a profession with an enormous potential for bugs

Well, most recipes work, but there are some that tend to make bugged pets, and sometimes generational pets can be bugged. Best to find a good recipe like VD/VD/NS/NS/NS and stick with it.

Venerial Disease, Venerial Disease, Nightsister, Nightsister, Nightsister.. That sounds more like an orgy than a pet...
