summary: Is using 'pre-nerf' pets (pets that when full grow only show up as DL-1) an exploit?
personally I didn't know you could tame a 'pre-nerf' kimo, the blurgg I knew about, but not the kimo, lol. I don't see it as a problem just cause the prepatch pets are somewhat rare... I see it as the CH equivalent of (exceptional) or now in the case of kimo's (legendary) tames (well not toataly legendary, but you get the idea)... or a pikeman equivalent of of looted lances... personaly I cannont wait to master CH nowto use what used to be my old 'show' pets, ![]()

BUG:
An error or defect in software or hardware that causes a program to malfunction. Often a bug is caused by conflicts in software when applications try to run in tandem. Basically anything in the game code that doesn’t work the way it was intended to work under certain circumstances.
How do I know if I am exploiting or not?
A Good General rule of thumb is: If you are doing something that gives you an uneven advantage over a MOB a player or the game system. You are most likely exploiting.
Knowingly exploiting is a serious offense and can cause disciplinary action to be taken against your account up to and including banning.
OK those 2 things clearly defined I hope I now wish to approach the bench and ask 2 simple questions for a CSR to answer, or the community as a whole to agree on. I’m placing this in the CH forum and the BE forum as well because both are affect3d by these 2 things. I cannot get a straight answer in game regarding this as the answer differs depending on what CSR you get and whether or not there really feel like banning someone for cheating.
1st issue. Bioengineers had several pets that were made in deed form prior to the big CH update way back when. When the server loaded and we logged in our deeds were still there all fine and dandy, In fact the deeds that could not be tamed prior to the patch could now be tamed, Kimogilla, Blurrg, Kahmurra. But when tamed a strange thing occurred, it seems that all the deeds made prior to the update and tamed after became level 0 pets, and they registered as 0 (1) levels against CH’s call count. In order to call more than one of these a Master CH was required to call a level 0(1) pet followed by a regular level pet, and then finally another level 0(1) pet. But another interesting thing is allowed since these new level 0 pets register as (its either level 0 or 1, we’ll say 1 to be safe) a Master CH could conceivable call 2 level 0 Kimogillas and 1 level 68 anything else (now these level 0 Kimogillas are in fact the equivalent of a level 80 creature, this technique allows a MCH to call a total of 228 levels of pet when in fact the maximum is supposed to be 70. amazing 3 times the number they are supposed to be able to call. Now this seems only obvious this is a bug, and utilizing it is an exploit, BUT CSR’s in game cannot give a straight answer. WHY? I do not know. But Is it fair to another player to work there but off in there profession to be beaten down in PvP by 2298 levels of pet plus what ever other class the master possesses. Or for a single CH to solo any given lair because of there unbalanced power. Now CH’s are not completely to blame here, why do I say this , because many a Bioengineer would tell them its completely legal, second this all occurred at the time when CH was diminished in power so that now someone with there bare hands can rip the throat out of even these bugged pets because the combat balance was never tested at master level in beta testing (hey devs. Give the JTLS beta testers perfect quality resources , 1K all the way down and 12 exp points to see what can happen before cutting loose your beta 0.5 software on the shelves please)
So the question I am posing here on this topic is, Is Using the pre-patch level 0 pets to exceed your allowable pet level an exploit or no. And if not I’m whipping out my 2 Kimogilla deeds.
The second question I have is now the new BE system, I know this is a touchy topic, you guys have blown it 2 times for sure, and you don’t want to admit it is still broken. Again I have gotten 1 CSR to say its an exploit and another has said its legal, what is it I’m talking about NON CH Pets with 6K/4K/2K HAM’s Now I know how this is done, and could do it myself, but ethically I don’t feel its right, other BE’s may do this, but again I realize that this game is populated mostly by teens, yes those same teens that sold those level 0 kimogillas for 10mill cr each. And anyway to earn a fast buck in the game is an opportunity, and you better do it now before they change it. I know that’s how it is.
Now why do I ask if these critters are bugged, well for one a natural level 10 creatures have a 900 HAM the lowest score in this series exceeds that. Second a Novice CH can use level 12 pets, which have a max HAM of about 1300. Again the lowest score exceeds that granting a NON-CH a more powerful pet than a novice CH. For some reason these beasties slip through the correction system. I think the reluctance to call them bugged at this point falls solely on the developers not wishing to admit, that after 3 tries they still don’t have it right. Again this is another imbalance affecting the CH class and destroying it.
After 1 year, CH has dwindled to becoming the most ruined class in the game, OK tailors have gotten short staff as well. And this damaging affect has affected many classes outside of CH. Bioengineers, because of the tailor shaft and the loss of CG’s in game have basically been regulated to being nutrition supplement makers for chefs. The Rare CH that does exist is pretty much amazed to find a MBE that actually makes pets instead of tissues.
I have posted this not to flame the development team, though I do show my frustration, but more as a plea. Fix these issues before diving into something new, we’ve been paying for a game for over 1 yr that still has stuff broken that was broken on day 1. Why would we as a community want to spend more money on JTLS when what we have in front of us still doesn’t work right, how much more things will JTLS only add to compound the issue.
I will be posting my SOMEONE SURE PICKED THE WRONG TIME IN SPACE FOR THIS GAME! Soon so we can all have fun and talk about thattoo.

really hard to read white text on the black background even though gray is better...
- MCH's can call way more than they should be able to
- BE's experimentation is bugged and sometimes returns fortuitous results
is it right to do either?
