Yet again a noob question (I'm new to this crafting thing
)
What kind of factories do we use? Is it food or chemical? Cos I read an old walkthrough from pre-CU where it said food and chemical factory.
Also what should I be looking for when buying a factory? Whats good and whats not?

You need food factories and crafting tools. A factory is a factory, no difference that I know of.
If you look at the previous couple of pages, you'll find a lot of noob type questions. Try checking them out, because I know this question has been asked a couple of times and hopefully they'll answer anyother question you have. The old crafting guides are still good with the exception of the pets and the effects of a couple tailor tissues that changed. Also, the CU dumped the med crafting on us which is not listed in the pre-CU crafting guides.

Food / chem crafting tool and food / chem crafting station to make the schematics, and food / chem factories to produce stuff. Pets are always hand-crafted.
