Pre-CU, I used Pet Stims a lot to keep pets alive during combat. The reuse timer was only a few seconds longer than that of regular stims and you could use them during combat without interupting your attacks... and as a BE, I could make my own.
Well, I have read about pets regenerating their health making Pet Stims less useful, so I have been doing some testing of Pet Stims in combat and have been very frustrated with them for the following reasons:
- First, they cannot heal an Incapped pet. You must use the Radial Menu and select Pet Incapacitation Recovery. If you use a Stim on an incapacitated pet, it is wasted.
- Next, once out of combat, a pet heals naturally anyway, so there is no reason to use them out of combat.
- Then there is the fact that the only way to tell how much longer you need to wait before using a Pet Stim again is to try to use it before the timer is up and look at your combat/system messages.
- Finally, the timer on Pet Stim reuse seems way too long. I have actually needed to use them during combat, but on one occasion, when I tried to use it again, I got the message that I would have to wait 45 seconds before I could use it again... and since I had waited a bit to use it in the first place, it seems to me that the timer must be 60 seconds.
Conclusion: The only time a Pet Stim could be worth using is during combat, but the reuse timer is so long that by the time you can use it again on an injured pet, the pet will either be incapped or healed naturally... making them useless.
My Suggestion of a Fix: At a minimum, reduce the reuse timer to be comparable to the medic heal damage timer. This will make using Pet Stims in combat more feasible... and since combat is the only time it makes sense to use a Pet Stim, the timer really needs to be short enough to allow them to be used more than once during a fight.

Question: does drinking Ruby Bliel have any effect on the pet stim timer?

I will check that. I haven't used Ruby Bliel before because my (medical) healing has always seemed fast enough without it.
