I dont much care for the recent patch (patch 19) is nerfed BE's heavily! For those of you that are BE's and not CH's as well when you make a pet you can alter everything you have been able to since CU, however ANY pet you make once tamed and stored then recalled at all, or simply tamed and if you relog the Accuracy, Defences AND the Armor all get reset to an appropriate level completely ruining any experimentation you did to make these stats better. So you cant make pets with better armor at ALL anymore nor can you alter there accuracy or defenses.

With every good nerf theres always a back door that the Dev's didnt think of before they ruined everything... and heres that back door. When making pets purposely lower the Prowess catagory as well as look for DNA with high hardiness but very very low armor, ignore armor and dexterity, Ideally you want very high endurance (regen) but if your making pets for CH/Docs then they dont need regen at all, otherwise intend on carrying a crap load of pet stims. Purposely lower those 3 stats, in the final experimentation you can alter the hardiness and the power (as well as mental and psychological profile but thats about a 0.11118697% impact on the pet itself) but with more power and hardiness the CL will raise back up to the Cl you wanted which you would have lowered CL by dropping hardiness+dexterity. Finish making the pet and tame, store, and recall pet, the armor, accuracy, and dexterity will reset themselves to the appropriate stats for its CL as the nerf intended however the CL wont change resulting in more powerful pets!

Thanks you the NINJA NERF Devs! Nice when they nerf a profession and never mention it anywhere what so ever, they also nerfed DNA harvesting and stat results as well and NONE of this was mentioned. So for all those that not only hate getting a weak profession nerfed weaker please explout the hell out of our ONLY backdoor to regaining even the slightest bit of usage out of what we have left.

Isn't it annoying how those stats do that? And you end up explaining to everyone who is buying your pets that they should just ignore 3 of the stats ...

(historical note here: NiTech wasn't publish 19 that did it. It's been like that every since publish 17 when they brought in the new system of pet crafting and in fact, droids do it too but that is neither here nor there) ...

Thanks for your 'more bang for your buck' post. It's a good point and a good way of working with what we are given. I definately wouldn't call it an exploit - I'd call it using the system as it works to craft the best pets you can. Elite DNA from the narglatch cave, Elite Huurtons from the Warren and lots of elites on Kashyyyk all have hardiness 1000 and a 'lesser fortitude than you'd expect for that' to boot which makes them good candidates for your method.

Yours,
Dor

Yeah, the stat shift was like that since publish 17.

The publish 19 nerf is the decrease in dependability, courage, fierceness, and no ranged attack. This I find to be a most disheartening nerf. I loved the 4th slot.

Both of these have been noted here since the respective publishes came out.

Yes, BEs should not focus on armor, to hit, or defense. That has been posted numerous times now. Any BEs still thinking these stats are important in crafting shouldbe shot.

Ni-Tech does make a good point though. If you can get DNA with low fortitude relative to hardiness and with low dexterity relative to endurance, then, theoretically, you will get a lower CL for the levels of hardiness and endurance. Right?

One possible concern is that low fortitude and dexterity may limit the amount of experimentation you can do on hardiness and endurance, respectively (Sumorex had an old post on this).

Um, same goes for cleverness and To Hit - find low cleverness relative to intelligence.

Lots of research still remains. Unfortunately, any research done right now may no longer be valid the next time they fix/add bugs.
