Just wanted to rule out the obvious...

• Are you a master BE?


• Were you sampling a Malkloc or a Malkloc Plainswalker?

You have to be a master BE to sample pets as high level as a Malkloc.

Malkloc plainswalkers are high level Malklics (80-84). They're too high level to sample even for master BE. Make sure you're sampling ordinary Malklocs and Malkloc Bulls.

Also, it may just be me, but I think it gets easier to sample the longer you stay near the creatures. So if you get incapped 2 times... pull out a crafter droid, make a few templates and wait till you can sample without fear of a 3rd incap and trip to the cloner. I think you'll find you start having more success after about 5-15 minutes of camping the same spot.

i had something similar to this on talus, just could not sample some creatures that i shoud have been able to, i think it may have been lag cos at the time my ping was going thru the roof and my fps was screwy, so i went to another planet for an hour or two and when i came back i ws able to sample again.

Thanks for that. I will try Dathomir again this evening. Right now I have found the elite moufs are giving me the DNA I want and I dont have to go through endless incaps to get them LOL. Thansk for all the help though, I will give it a go this evening and see if it works

I was out collecting trash DNA the other day to make a pack of CH grinder pets for a new Novice CH and tried to Sample a Spineflap Soldier (CL 12) and got that message. I finally got fed up and just killed the thing... but I had no difficulty Sampling from other creatures in the area of both higher and lower CL.

I came across this too today on Kashyyyk. I tried a couple times and got the message. I did a quick /ex on the creature and saw that it didn't have any stats listed, just "Creature looks like you'll kill it easily" or whatever.

I tried other creatures nearby and didn't have a problem (they showed stats such as Tamable when I examined them)

Yep these are exactly the problems I had too, but like the guys mentioned earlier in the thread, after I left the area for a while (in my case I left the planet), coming back at a later stage the problem wasn't there anymore. Not that it helped me, the malklocs tripple incapped me before I got my DNA but oh well, such is life lol

I saw this the other night on Naboo so I simply killed one of them and the rest were then available for me to sample.

I can't solo lvl 75's, I'm only lvl 60 lol. But will remember that if the problem occurs with lower lvl mobs like mentioned before

I have exactly the same problem too, and I'm trying to grind it
I've tried over 50 creatures CL 3 to 15 on various planets tonight and estimate I've only been able to sample about 5 out of the lot. How are we supposed to grind this profession?

i'm having a very hard time this evening with Malklocs.

the pattern goes like this: spawn of three. sample one. it dies. none of the rest can be sampled successfully, until the corpse respawns. that can be sampled once more, then repeat.

I've seen this randomly happen. I found two rogue falumpasets like 100m from each other, couldn't sample either. Yet day before that wasn't able to sample a plains hunter I found, yet I had sampled 1 earlier. Haven't seen a common factor, just seems random.

I didn't seem to see any factor of lag. I've mainly only sampled on Naboo. I have done some on corellia, but can't remember if I had that bug happen the few hours I've been there. It's not that frequent, but obnoxious when I have it happen.
