I recently reached bio-engineer, and I'm now at 2.0.1.1

I really would like some better DNA, but it seems like that tree is nearly impossible to advance in.

Im also interested in selling mounts. So I have 2 questions:

1) Is it better to harvest the "trash" outside of say Theed for DNA harvesting xp, or to go to Dantooine and harvest pikets?

2) Can we make any of the non-CH versions of CH mounts? Like the 'easier' version of the Dewback?

Thanks

As a BE, you can make Non-CH Mounts, those being the Kaadu (Cloning I) and Carrion Spat (Cloning II). You can make them with the trash collected from outside of town, and with some organic food you can buy at the bazaar. But the outcome would be a rather poor creature, although it will serve well as a simple mount. I've been able to sell them to people, but I do make them aware they aren't the highest quality. I don't charge alot either, since I don't feel they are worth the 100K some people are selling them for, at least not until I get to Eng 4, when I can make better ones.

Sampling Pickets on Dantooine isn't as easy as itsounds. Although they net some nice XP, they will bash your skull in if you make them mad. Keep this in mind with the new decay rules too. That said, it still takes time to get good DNA. Good resources count too.

Most people at this point probably just want mounts, when players get more accustomed to them, they'll probably start demanding better ones.

Hope this helps

Hey-

I'm a new BE also, but following advice from a buddy, I did 3.5 boxes of DNA in about 10 hours. I spent some time gettting lvl 1 by sampling the little guys outside of theed. For lvl 2 i went to Tatooine and did Womp Rat and Lesser Dewback missions. For 3 and 4 I went to Dantooine and did Piket missions. I should be able to get the last 40k in lvl 4 in about 2 hours tonight.

The real big thing to keep in *mind* is that dna sampling wrecks your mind. My suggest - Get a Musician Buff before you go, take some Muon Gold with you, and just grind through it. If you have mask scent, use it.

Just keep at it. You'll be fine.

Your questions :

1)You can make them from any dna u got, off course u will get better reasons with better DNA,

BUT the possible difference is not that huge. A spat'sHAM is in generalbetween 1k ( very poor)and 1,3k ( very good) , so that IMO most peoplewill only use them or travel. A kaddu is even weaker...

If u make a Gurreck later in your career u will need good dna the hit the 12,5k

2) Not atm. It is promised, but there is a lot announced for BE. So the only mounts u can craft for non CH are the spat and the kaadu

I found the better DNA and higher XP to be the Sharnaff's on Corillia. A regular Sharnaff gives me about 300 something xp, the Bull around 400 (per sample). They don't deathblow, and they are not aggro.

Well, here is the thing... if you are only at the experimentation 1 box, you are not going to be able to experiment much on the values of the creature (and if you do you'll most likely fail anyway), and it is these experiments that make the difference between an ordinary critter and a primo one. So to me, at your skill level, I'd recommend not bothering with high CL level dna for any creature you make. It's a waste of your time.

For those at higher experimentation levels, I'd recommend doind something like this when making Kadu/Carrion Spat mounts:

using 1 relatively high CL level dna sample with good pair score for health (forget what the attributes are actually called, but they are the first two on the sample).

using low level CL level dna for all the rest, but making sure you get relatively high pair scores.

You're probably going to use your experimentation pointsfor health and damage anyway, so no sense in "wasting" higher CL level dna on these other attributes, and in fact the "psychology" and "damage" stats are completely independent of CL level anyway so good quality paralope/durni/gubber dna is perfectly good for damage and pyschology even if you're making an uber creature.
