Thread: Cloning
Yup, if you clone, you won't come back with massive wounds (or any wounds, actually). It's a darn smart thing to do if you're doing stuff in one particular region, and well worth the 1000cr if you're out fighting lots of mean things. ![]()
(and don't forget to re-clone if you move to another city for an extending period)
Death is a lot more... Palatable if you die closer to the Cloning center you are bound to.
I don't have a lot of details, I just started using it a couple of days ago when we were trying to do a lot of hunting and no good doctors or entertainers were around. Down time to heal and entertain yourself was getting unbearable, so I tried it. I still had some wounds after cloning, but nothing major... Nothing like the 550BF and 200 wounds I'd get after 3 deaths in an hour.
I still feel a bit like I'm cheating when I Clone, and I don't dread the re-emergence of the need for corpseruns. (I'll get together a 50-person hunting party (Pets count) rather than insure)
Keep in mind that for every wound, battle fatigue, etc that Cloning prevents and/or heals, an XP point is stolen from an entertainer, musician, or scout (Camp heals).

Cool thanks for the info.
But why clone when getting to a new planet since you are moved to closest cloning facility anyway?
These days cloning in a npc City is a good idea as it is possible to get yourself trapped in a player city cloning centre and repeatedly killed if you are unlucky enough to die close to a city of thoughtless or cruel players.
If you are covert you can land youself in hot water, if you die near a cloning centre with some enemy HQ's and a scanner near it.
And for the moment it's possible that you can be /citywarned and repeatedly clone killed.
Always have an alternativeto the closest facility.
*sniff* *sniff* I smell a nerf....
Like /citywarn, stolen because of the griefers. Seems like without /citywarn this would not have mattered though. Oh well.
I've had to becloned twice now since starting. What actually determins if you die & have to clone or just become incapacitated? I've been incapacitated numerous times without having to clone. How many times can you be incapacitated before you have to be cloned?
What can I expect on the next time I have to clone? Will I lose everything I have? Is there a certain number of times I can be recloned?
