question is bio-engineer any good these days i recently started playing again and i wanted to find out if it's any good anymore or has it been completly nerfed even tho i don't know anything about it i have heard good things of freinds but this was before the CU.
is it hard to get DNA samples.
is it worth the big grind
how much xp do u get off getting DNA. or is it dependent on the CL of the creature?
Bio-engineer is good for making the new Insta-Stims. There is almost zero market for the med enhancers which cost a fortune to make (you are looking at 275-600 units plus 8-9 Ident components x3 per each) and do little in the game.
Pet size is now determined by CL so a CL60-70 gurrcat is as big as a GSP.
Most chefs have enough BE to supply themselves.
Many of the tailor tissues are broken. The number of tailors has dropped significantly on my server since CU hit.
We cannot make a pet that can compete with those in the wild, especially the female narglatch who at CL22 has 7k+ health and 321 max damage. There are three quest given pets IG from quests on Kashyyyk and I imagine this number will go up as more "content" is added to Kashyyyk.
You die sampling, but then you always died if you went after things like Mutant Rancors. The recon armor that we get is a joke as it protects against energy over kinetic and creatures do kinetic damage when you get up close and personal.
There are no specials listed on the DNA anymore although I have had creatureshit me withbleed damage. If you have old Pre-CU DNA, the specials were removed and stats adjust with Publish 17 making them unusable.
There is no market for non-ch pets as they will cause a low level player to loose xp and loot/harvest rights if used while fighting.
We cannot make non-ch mounts (with the exception of falumpaset and brackaset who now turn out as large asa wild carrion spat and they are not the favorite mounts or most requested mounts.)
I've been a master for over a year and a half so I no longer get xp, perhaps someone else can answer that question.
Welcome back to the new BE.

Welcome! BE is an awesome prof., I think you'll really enjoy it.
Let me touch on some things that Cindal mentions, cause I've had some different experiences.
1) Pet size is now determined by CL so a CL60-70 gurrcat is as big as a GSP.
True, and I love it! I get so many people coming up and talking about my level 56 Dewback mount and how huge it is. I even had a guy respec in front of me so he could get the CH points to call one. My level 55 Kusak comes to my waist! I hated the little knee high kusaks.
This is my biggest complaint about BE pets now. I have always purchased BE cats pre-CU as I loved their speed, abilties, specials and SIZE! As master CH I need good pets which can tank and not upset the group I am with or the other players in the area. This change is going to make me unpopular. My alt made a level 69 and 70 cat, and I dread to think what size they are going to be when full grown - I already disappear when one is out at half cl level.
Ok - it looks cool for anyone wanting to show off - but if the Master CH doesn't want to buy your huge pets - there won't be the market for them. A waist high pet is about the right size for the best attack tank. I wish the devs would make all BE pets back to deed size. Some pets just look ridiculous now and we could end up looking as though we are playing "Beast Wars" again.
Well, the one thing we've deduced by this is that it is all a matter of opinion, when it comes to sizing. What would be best is if we were allowed to dictate the size during the crafting process. I hopethe devs incorporate something along those linesso we can all be happy.

As to whether or not there will be a market for large creatures, most defninelty yes, and I'm already selling them, not to mention making them for myself...
Remember, I am a MCH, so you can't tell me all MCH's don't like big pets. I do, and those folks I'm already selling them to do, as well...
being able to pick the size would be awesome....think of a waist high CL 70 rancor...lol
As for selling pets....I sell out almost as fast as I put them on the vendor. Of course, I'm selling for a lot less than a lot of BE's and they're only average. I haven't really spent the time to get a good combo together.
Oh sorry, I should have added, I never wear armor don't like how it looks, I use BE enhanced clothes with both mask scent/camo and taming.
Check the tailor forums to see what tailors are registered from your server and use that as a starting point to compile your list of tailors. I add the tailors who purchase from me to my friends list together with those that are registered on the tailor forum (if they aren't already a customer) and let them know when I restock my vendors. I also observe titles displayed. You can add the chefs and CHs to your friends list as well.
As people respec, they usually let me know that "hey, I'm no longer a tailor" often letting me know what they have respec'd too and then it's just a simple matter of adjusting my list.
Try to keep your customer's name(s) in mind and greet them when you see them about, you will find that it helps you develop a loyal following.

if you could dictate the size of the pet i wouldn't mind an army of tiny rancors or giant womp rats cos i love both creatures but i hate that rancors are so big they would be so much cooler being smaller.
