Thread: Help a wookie out: What can a BE make for me, and what do I need to collect for him?
A Bio-Engineer can't make the clothes for you. A Bio-Engineer can make the tissues that would be incorporated into the creation of clothing by a Tailor. The Wookie Shoulder Pad and various bandoliers are the only items of clothing a Wookie can wear that can take the following tissues:
- Tensile Release • 20 Creature food, 25 bone, 25 hide, 10 flora resources • +Melee defense, stun defense
- Fear release • 25 Creature Food, 25 Herbivore meat, 15 Fungi, 20 Carnivore meat • Significant bonuses to intimidation and warcry
- Scent Neutralization • 20 Creature food, 20 Flora structural, 25 Flowers, 15 Avian Bone • + Camouflage, mask scent
- Mimetic Circuitry • 20 creature food, 20 flora structural, 20 reptile meats, 15 mollusk • +Cover
- Coagulant Agents • 20 creature food, 20 flora resources, 20 creature resources, 15 bone • + Bleeding defense
The Shoulder Pads can also be made with a bonus from one of the tissues below, if that tissue is made into a factory crate and the tailor making the clothing can make factory crated synthetic cloth. A Wookie Sage's Hood is the next best thing to wear. You can get the max of +25 to any particular skill into it, for two different tissues/four different skills listed below. Tissue bonuses stack up to +25 to any one skillin a single item of clothing if the cloth panels that have the tissues in them go into separate slots in the creation process. All the rest of Wookie clothing can use the following tissues:
- Active Biosensors • 20 creature food, 25 flora structural, 25 insect meat, 10 wild meat • +Injury and wound treatment
- Active Tranquilizers • 20 creature food, 25 milk, 25 bone, 10 reptilian meat • +To taming wild creatures, taming vicious creatures
- Enhanced Myoflex Treatment • 20 creature food, 25 flora structural, 20 scaly hide, 15 egg • +Wound healing (dancer & musician)
You didn't indicate what, if any, other skills you have. The problem with the +Cover tissue is that it takes 15 identical Mollusk, which is exceedingly difficult to find. It probably spawns in the trash piles at "Panther City" on Talus. Don't know exactly where that is, I've never been. That's also one of the places to find milk, if you're also a Creature Handler. If you have at least Novice Medic skills, the Active BioSensors would be a big help in increasing the effectiveness of your stim/woundpack use. (You wouldn't be able to use anything higher level than you could normally, but you'd get more healing out of them, on average.)
All bio-engineered tissues need resources with high Overall Quality, Potential Energy and Flavor. The higher those stats are on the resources, the better the skill bonus will be.

As you pointed out this is ridiculously tough to actually make. However we can easily make :-
Visual Camouflage * 20 Creature food, 20 Flora Structural, 20 Reptile Meat * Lesser + Cover

That's true, but it really isn't practical for wookiees. I've made outfits for people where I do a shirt + jacket + pants with +7 visual cammoflauge tissues, and that gives a respectible +21 to cover, but since wookiees are limited to just one shoulder pad (unless they don't use a pack and can get a bandolier), just havinga single +7 bonus really isn't worth the trouble. I think most of the time they're gonna want to go with one of the other bonuses where they can get at least +15 or so on it.
One note: when a bio-engineer says "Creature food" he means "meat." We get asked that from time to time...

Thanks for explaining that. So "20 creature food and 20 reptile meat" would mean, say, 20 herbivore meat and 20 reptile meat?
What qualities should I look for in things like meat?
By the way, I'm really impressed by the answers you guys have provided so far. Nice to see you all know what you're doing!![]()
Being a wookie as well i feel your pain. Know however even if you gather ingrediants for us to make things for you, they can only go into wookie shoulder pads, nothing else.
At the moment i use a bleed resistant shoulder pad and have in my backpack a camo shoulder pad which i change too when sampling, or taming critters in the wild. It sucks having to change them all the time when other races (even the scalies) get to wear armours and take full advantage of our cloths...
