Thread: tissues.. pricing question
How are you pricing your tissues that you make? Im kinda curious because im not sure what to sell these for, to tailors.

I usually charge 150-350 per plus per tissue. Depends on what I use for the tissue. I do not havea problem selling at this price. I also charge less if they supply some of the harder resources to get for the tissue.
I've got a weird system, 'cause I think the complexity of the tissue should be a part of the price. So I have a base price per tissue, and then add 100cr per skill point (highest determines on double-mod tissues).
- Novice - 250cr + 100cr/point
- Tissue Engineering 1 - 500cr + 100cr/point
- Tissue Engineering2 - 750cr + 100cr/point
- Tissue Engineering3 - 1000cr + 100cr/point
- Tissue Engineering4 - 1250cr + 100cr/point
- Master - 1500cr + 100cr/point
The only thing from Tissues 2 or below that I actually ever make is Visual Camouflage, since there's just no way in hell I'll ever get enough mollusk to make crates of Mimetic Circuitry (unless they give us some method of harvesting them other than camping trash piles, which I've never even done). But basically, my +16 Active Biosensors sell for 2850cr each. And they do sell. I probably oughta charge more, since the tailors I know charge 1k/point for the finished clothing item. But I've got enough money to meet my needs, and lots of tailor friends who make me new threads as the whim strikes me.
I'm such a clothes horse, I should tailor myself....
500 cr per point for the +18 tissues I make. I don't sell anything other than the max level tissues you can make. Going tailor price to top quality BE clothing on Bloodfin is 1K per point, so I'm essentially splitting the profits with my tailor friends.
This is down from the 1500 per point Sher and the other Master BE's on Bloodfin were charging in the begining. Still a steady market though.
Getting the %%@@@ bones and hides to make the max value stuff is a PAIN though.

I'm just a new BE (holo brought me but I'm really enjoying it) and I've never been a tailor so I don't know anything about how many resources things take and what it takes to get them but I thought I'd make a small point (not a flame) -
Wapcaplet your statment is slightly off - you are splitting the revenue, not the profit, with the tailor. If it's a good arrangement with you then don't change it because of this but if your item took 2x cost the make the tailor is making a lot more money and vice versa.
